Pros
- Easy online order process
- Responds immediately to customer concerns
Cons
- Inefficient delivery
- Sends defective products
If you’re a regular online shopper, we think you’ll love Riffs & Licks Music. One of the things we adore about the shop is that it has a very user-friendly site with all the updated information like products and price, so everything’s convenient and accurate!
We appreciate it a lot that the staff’s also very attentive and prompt in terms of responding to customers. You’ll always get immediate replies whether it’s about product replacements or inquiries—very efficient, right?
But it doesn’t mean shopping on-site is less convenient. On the contrary, we love everything about the on-site store too!
Riffs & Licks offers a lot of musical instruments, not just pianos, so it feels like shopping in a music haven. We love how it has a wide range of brands as well as types of instruments, so if you need another aside from piano, you don’t need to look elsewhere!
We’re fortunate enough to talk to the piano enthusiasts visiting the store, and they told us that Ricks & Licks has digital pianos, keyboards, synthesisers, amps, and key accessories. The pricing’s flexible too so you won’t go overboard with budget!
We’re just a little concerned about the delivery process because sometimes the store sends defective instruments. But to make up for it, the store at least immediately rectifies the situation and replaces the product.
Still to us, that can be quite a hassle to customers. If Ricks & Licks improves its delivery process more though, it’ll definitely attract more customers.

Pros
- Immediately replaces defective products
- Offers free delivery
Cons
- High-cost pianos
- Understaffed
In terms of staff efficiency, Mannys Music is definitely on top of our list! Whether you call or visit on-site, you’ll get a thorough explanation to your inquiries, which will help you decide more on your purchase!
In fact, according to some loyal customers we’ve had a chat with, it’s the customer service that keeps making them go back. The store’s a little understaffed, but its people know how to handle inquiries and make great recommendations!
Mannys Music is a large shop that houses a lot of brands and instruments, so it has quite the piano collection. Every type, whether for prodigies or beginners—the store has them all!
The store has a wide range of keyboards, digital pianos, and acoustic pianos. Since it has different brands on its inventory, you can also choose from low-cost to high-cost pianos.
In addition, we love that the store offers freebies to its customers. The staff usually throws in a free strings or a free delivery to your purchase, depending on what type of instrument you bought.
We’re a little turned off though by the website—it’s always undergoing maintenance, hence it could be a bit inconvenient for online shoppers. It has an active social media page for more information, but it’s not enough.
We also think its price range isn’t for everyone. But if you’re willing to add a few dollars to your budget, then shopping at Mannys Music is still very much worth it!

Pros
- Open during weekends
- Competitive prices
Cons
- Products on the website might aren’t updated
- Disorganised order process
One of the best things we love about Australian Piano Warehouse is that it’s really the perfect store for piano enthusiasts. It has one of the largest inventory of piano brands and types, so whether you’re a beginner or already an expert, it’s the store to visit!
The store offers digital pianos, keyboards, accessories, and music sheets among others. We love that it’s a one-stop shop—you don’t need to transfer to other music stores just for other piano-related things.
Another thing we adore about the shop—it always has a sale! According to past customers, Australian Piano’s sale is worth it because the store doesn’t hold back with the great deals and discounts.
In addition to this, the store offers used grand pianos and digital pianos, so if you have a very limited budget, you can try them out. The staff are always around to explain things to you, so if you need more details about a piano, don’t hesitate to ask them.
The only thing we think the store needs to improve on is its order process. It can get quite disorganised, so they sometimes forget customer details, therefore causing delays in the delivery.
Overall though, we still recommend Australian Piano Warehouse for your piano needs. It’s definitely worth a visit if you want to have several brand options before you purchase a piano.

Pros
- Good selection of pianos
- Staff makes good recommendations
Cons
- Advertised freebies might not be included in actual purchase
- Delayed replies regarding complaints
Vivace Pianos and Strings is another store that has a good selection of pianos. Every brand and every type of piano you can think of, you can find in this store!
Vivace Pianos and Strings has a large showroom where it displays all of its pianos—grand, digital, keyboards—they’re all lined up in there. We love that everyone can try the pianos so the customers can have a feel of how it is to play them.
The staff are also everywhere—they don’t hover, but they’re available for questions if you have them. We really actually appreciate that all the staff seem to know a lot about the pianos, so customers can have all the information they need.
In fact, some customers we’ve talked to were beginners. They told us that the store staff helped them pick out the right piano for their needs, and within the limits of their budgets.
We’re just a little annoyed about the advertised freebies on the website. Most of them aren’t exactly freebies – they involve you purchasing a certain amount first to qualify for them.
Other than that though, we think you should check out Vivace Pianos and Strings. If you want to explore all types and brands before you purchase, then it’s the perfect store for you!

Pros
- Also offers second-hand pianos
- Staff are knowledgeable about pianos
Cons
- Regularly open only on Saturday
- Delays on delivery
What we love about Boyds: The Piano Shop is the ambience of the shop. When you enter it, it feels like entering one’s house so it feels quite homey and comfortable that it’s easy to roam around and check out all of its pianos.
The store offers brand new pianos from various brands as well as second-hand pianos. What we love about it is that the second-hand pianos are all in good condition, so you don’t have to worry about their quality.
In fact, according to some of its customers, the second-hand pianos that they bought from the store looked good and sounded really well. Hence, they said they always recommended the store to anyone who’s looking for a reliable piano shop.
We also want to credit the staff for being attentive and helpful. They know everything about the pianos they’re selling so they can explain all the details about them.
Boyds is a small shop, hence it can only accommodate scheduled visits outside of its regular Saturday opening. While this can be quite inconvenient, it can also be of an advantage since it means you can have the place all to yourselves!
There’s a little disadvantage like delays in delivery at times, but other than that, Boyds is a good piano shop, most especially to those living near it. The great selection of affordable pianos is definitely a good reason to check it out!
