Pros

  • Open until Sunday
  • Detailed report for improvement

Cons

  • Strict instructors
  • Misses recording booking details

In terms of meeting all criteria for highly qualified instructors, All Points Driving School has it all! Licensed, experienced, and skilled, we want to give the school credit for training their instructors well and make sure they’re ready to teach their students.

We’re able to converse with some of its past students, and they’re very happy about how the instructors adapted each lesson to fit the needs of a student. It’s a very personal approach that allows for faster growth—we approve!

Another thing—we all love it when we’re comfortable speaking to our instructors so we can ask questions. Most, if not all instructors at All Points, have very good communication skills—students immediately feel at home during the lessons!

We also want to applaud said instructors for being patient and encouraging to their students. We honestly don’t mind the strictness because that pushes for discipline, though some students really do prefer a gentler approach.

Just make sure to double-check your booking so as not to waste time and get frustrated in the process. All Points’ booking procedure is decent, but there are still times when they’re not recorded at all.

Overall though, All Points Driving School is a good place to learn or relearn your driving skills. It has competent instructors who’ll push you to your limits and give your confidence a huge boost—which is honestly what we need when learning how to drive!

Pros

  • High-passing rate on the first take
  • Patient instructors

Cons

  • Wrong booking details
  • Phone calls always go to voicemail

If you need instructors who can be patient and calm with you, we recommend Anchor Driving School. The school’s known for their friendly instructors who don’t mind repeating rules and demonstrating how-tos again and again.

According to some past clients we talked to, Anchor Driving instructors knew how to gauge their students’ weaknesses. They’re able to adjust the lessons because of this observation, hence, the students learned how to drive in a way that felt easy for them.

We all appreciate when things are simplified for us. Driving’s a life skill we need to master, and it’s not difficult if we’re being taught properly in a language we understand.

We love that the instructors are consistent with how they treat all students—with patience and simple directives. They’re also not intimidating, and we all appreciate a friendly face when doing anxiety-inducing actions like learning how to drive!

In addition to this, you can actually request a particular instructor so you’ll feel more comfortable. Just let Achor know in advance if you prefer a kind, less-strict one and you’ll get it!

Most of the things we learned about Anchor Driving School from its past clients were good, but they had one complaint—booking. Some of them experienced paying for no-show fees because the instructors got the address wrong, which was a hassle.

Sometimes phone calls also go to voicemail. But at least the company has an email and a contact form for alternatives

If Anchor Driving School can improve on this, it’ll definitely attract more students. After all, in terms of instructors and lessons, it has gone a long way!

Pros

  • Clear and simple instructions
  • Dedicated instructors

Cons

  • Confusing website
  • No one answers the phone

Michael Tian Driving School Brisbane is known for its instructors whose dedication and clear-cut instructions allow the students to learn quickly. This is the reason why the past students we’ve chatted with couldn’t help but gush about the lessons they took.

We’re happy to know that Michael Tian Driving School instructors explain every single manoeuvre clearly and with precision. And whenever they see that you need improvement, they’ll demonstrate and tell you in simple terms how to do it properly.

They also give free advice on techniques and moves, which will help you during the practical tests. In addition to that, we also appreciate how the instructors never seem to stop encouraging their students, which boosts their confidence.

We all tend to work harder when we’re appreciated. Instructors at Michael Tian are worthy of praise in terms of establishing a relationship with the students.

Probably the only cons we see are about the website and the unanswered phone calls. For the website, it lacks a few information and some terms are needed to be translated to English–you need to double-check this information since Google Trans isn’t reliable.

It’s also quite frustrating that you rarely get an answer via phone so you had to resort to emailing Michael. But we sort of understand this because it’s a small school, and it doesn’t have a lot of staff to spare.

Other than these couple of minor setbacks, we still recommend Michael Tian Driving School. It’s affordable and it has a highly skilled instructor waiting to teach you!

Pros

  • Accommodates late bookings
  • Personalised lessons

Cons

  • Online booking might not push through
  • Might not have an instructor located near your area

In terms of the method of instruction, we think David’s Driving School’s very suited for learner drivers. The school’s recognised because of how each lesson precisely fits each of its students, which allows them to learn a lot while enjoying the sessions.

Some parents we’re fortunate to have a chat with also agreed with us that David’s Driving School’s a very good school for their teens. The instructors easily gave an initial good impression to both parents and students, making the lessons easier to conduct.

The lessons are also very personalised. The instructors get to know its students through friendly chats and questions, allowing them to adjust the way they conduct a particular lesson.

Not only that—we also love that even during the lessons, if they see that there needs to be a change in approach, they’ll recalibrate their plans. The main focus of the instructors are their students, and we think they’re commendable for this.

Just a couple of minor setbacks though—the first about booking. If you booked online, we suggest calling a few hours or days before your scheduled appointment to make sure it was recorded (sometimes it’s not).

Another, there might not be instructors available in your area. Not to worry though—this won’t be a hassle since the company will check it for you and will be the one to inform you if there aren’t while suggesting an alternative.

Pros

  • Kind instructors
  • Informative lessons

Cons

  • Difficult to book
  • Phone bookings aren’t very reliable

According to some students of Taylors Driving School, the company’s instructors are its main strength. The school has some of the most patient and kind instructors who act like mentors instead of just plain lesson-givers—and that’s what they love the most!

Another thing we love about Taylors is that the instructors are very calm and reassuring. If you made a mistake, they won’t be reprimanding you, instead they’ll patiently explain what you’ve done wrong and suggest the proper way on how you can do it better.

We appreciate this type of approach because it’s nurturing and encouraging. While strict instructions are appreciated, how to deliver them also matters a lot.

We also like that each lesson isn’t just practical, it’s also very informative. You don’t just learn the hows, but you also learn the whys—a really good combination for a session!

Just to let you know though—Taylors Driving School is a small driving school. This is the reason why it’s quite difficult to book an immediate lesson, so don’t expect to get accommodated if your requests are last-minute.

Another thing that we think needs improvement is booking since phone bookings aren’t very reliable, so it’s better to use the contact form online. As potential clients, we prefer it if there are several workable options for us.

All in all though, we think Taylors Driving School’s worth checking out. Despite not being as big as other driving schools, its dedication can be seen in the way the lessons are being taught and how the students are being treated with respect.
