The 5 Best Comedy Clubs in Brisbane That’ll Turn Bad Days Into Big Laughs

Pricing and Value: We compared base ticket prices and checked for included perks like dinner or premium drinks.

Venue Capacity and Layout: A massive room feels entirely different from a cosy, underground basement setup. We reviewed seat limits and table arrangements to see how close the audience gets to the performers.

Food and Beverage Logistics: Scrambling for a drink while someone tells a joke usually ruins the punchline. We reviewed the in-house dining options and noted whether guests can order directly to their tables.

Accessibility and Comfort: Everyone deserves a comfortable night out without fighting a difficult physical environment. We checked for step-free entry routes, dedicated wheelchair seating, and clear sightlines across the showroom.

A hilarious live show is easily one of the most exciting date ideas in town. Luckily, Brisbane has a vibrant entertainment scene filled with cosy basement rooms, big showcase stages, and top local talent.

If you want something different from late-night burlesque shows, finding the best comedy club in Brisbane guarantees an evening packed with genuine belly laughs.

Whether you’re a tourist or a local, we have a list of great spots across the city for weekend hangouts or corporate gatherings. Read on to discover which comedy rooms to visit!

Address: 400 Montague Rd.

Contact: [email protected]

Hours: Wednesday-Thursday, 7:00 PM – 11:00 PM | Friday-Saturday, 7:30 PM – 11:00 PM

Date planning often involves juggling separate dinner reservations and show tickets. Brisbane Comedy Cellar solves that entirely by bundling your admission, food, and premium drinks into all-inclusive packages.

They even deliver food directly to your table during the set, keeping you from missing punchlines.

Plus, booking early means you can bypass the bar queues and relax.

Now, the space sits underneath the historic Raven Hotel, capped at 60 seats to preserve an authentic basement atmosphere.

A friend of mine tried a Wednesday show and loved how engaging the room felt.

The main drawback is the lack of wheelchair accessibility, since the entrance has stairs.

If mobility isn’t an issue for your group, this spot offers a wonderfully curated live experience.

Pros

  • Live music paired with comedy
  • All-inclusive show packages
  • Table-side food service
  • Intimate 60-seat capacity

Cons

  • No wheelchair accessibility

Hidden gem

West end comedy hidden gem 💎

Cute little bar, where you could grab a few snacks, very nice live music and well put together stand up comedy. Host was great as well. 5 stars for sure …

The comedians were super funny

I had a really great time here with my friends. The staff were all super friendly and the atmosphere of the venue was awesome. Super laid back, chill vibes, but with hilarious comedy. The comedians were super funny and I really enjoyed the different styles of humour showcased. You can order food to your table and grab some drinks too at the bar which is a huge plus. We had an awesome drop in from Nazeem Hussain which made the experience even more special. 10/10 recommend.

Address: Inside Warehouse 25, 25 Finchley St, Milton

Contact: +61 468 461 985 | [email protected]

Hours: Thursday, 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM

A live act shouldn’t require dressing up and spending half your paycheck on mandatory drinks. The team at Comedy Cha Cha Club strips away those stuffy rules, setting a flat $18 rate for their Thursday gigs.

They host these showcases inside a converted Milton warehouse, deliberately limiting the crowd to just 45 seats for guaranteed proximity to the stage.

Guests can order artisan pizzas from the upstairs restaurant, and staff bring meals straight downstairs to the comedy room.

The obvious catch is their Thursday-only schedule, which leaves you out of luck if you need weekend entertainment.

If a weeknight fits your plans, this is a brilliant choice for locals looking for a casual laugh after work.

Pros

  • Flat $18 ticket price
  • No drink minimums or dress codes
  • Full restaurant menu available
  • Strict 45-seat room limit

Cons

  • Thursday night shows only

The show was full of hilarious comedians

What a wonderful night! Love this new venue, a fantastic addition to Brisbane’s flourishing stand-up comedy scene. The show was full of hilarious comedians and laugh out loud moments. Venue staff were superb, we loved grabbing a drink and a bite to eat before and during the show. Thanks, will be back again!

Highly recommend it for a great night out!

Really lovely, intimate atmosphere with everything you need: drinks, food, and, most importantly, plenty of laughs! We had a fantastic night there with some top performers. The intimate setup makes it feel really relaxed and personal, which adds so much to the experience. Highly recommend it for a great night out!

Corporate functions and birthday party planning usually mean fighting for space and stressing over who sits where. At The Sit Down Comedy Club, they guarantee everyone a chair, comfortably fitting up to 220 guests in their large showroom.

They also manage a massive touring circuit, ensuring Brisbane audiences constantly see fresh international headliners.

And since keeping a big crowd settled can be tough, the venue uses a smart Quick Response (QR) code system for drink orders.

We actually tried this at-table ordering during a packed Friday show, and it genuinely stopped us from wandering around looking for the bar.

Unfortunately, you can’t eat inside the comedy space right now because of ongoing construction.

Even so, if you need a reliable venue with big talent, we highly recommend visiting them.

Pros

  • Spacious 220-person capacity
  • Weekly rotating comedy lineups
  • At-table QR code drink ordering
  • Dedicated wheelchair seating

Cons

  • No in-room food; ongoing construction

Address: 52 Petrie Terrace

Contact: 0422 619 619 | [email protected]

Hours: Hours may vary. Contact for availability

Good Chat Comedy Club sits in a tucked-away underground space on Caxton Street, so finding the entrance can take a little extra attention. The club uses a custom logo projected onto the footpath to help guests find their way inside.

Once you’re there, you’ll discover a purpose-built venue designed for lively stand-up comedy shows.

One handy feature is that every ticket includes an allocated table for your group, so you won’t have to rush to claim a seat.

Plus, the club shares a liquor licence with the pub upstairs, allowing you to bring craft beers and full meals down to your table.

However, some shows use theatre-style rows instead of tables, so you might not have a surface for your drinks.

Pros

  • Allocated table seating included
  • Shared licence with Caxton St Brewing Co
  • Early courtyard access available
  • Allows accompanied minors

Cons

  • Occasional theatre-style seating limits table space

Perfect comedy venue

Perfect comedy venue. The space is classic intimate, basement vibe and there is always a great line-up. Order food and drink from the table and it’s brought to you. Mostly the guys that own and run it are the real deal… you couldn’t ask for a warmer welcome or better service.

It’s a great place to see comedy

Brisbane is lucky to have Good Chat. It’s a great place to see comedy. The space has character, the staff are great, drinks are good. They profile acts that you might not have seen on the TV but they will become your next favourite comedian.

5. Big Fork Theatre

Website: bigforktheatre.com

Address: Level 2, 252 St Paul’s Terrace, Fortitude Valley

Contact: +61 423 537 563 | [email protected]

Hours: Thursday-Saturday, 7:00 PM | Sunday, 6:00 PM

Big Fork Theatre is the area’s dedicated improv venue, focusing entirely on spontaneous, unscripted performances. Since the actors don’t follow a script, every show feels unique and draws directly from the audience’s energy.

The venue operates as a not-for-profit co-operative run by local artists. Instead of performing in a noisy pub corner, they use an 80-seat black box theatre designed for a more focused experience.

The tiered seating gives guests clear views of the stage. Meanwhile, wheelchair access at stage level makes the venue easier to navigate for patrons with mobility needs.

Unfortunately, the bar only serves light snacks, so you’ll need to visit a nearby restaurant for a proper dinner.

Pros

  • Completely unscripted improv performances
  • Not-for-profit co-operative model
  • Stage-level wheelchair access
  • Tiered viewing space

Cons

  • Only light snacks available at the bar
