The atmosphere is elevated by a blend of jazz and hip-hop beats that make for a perfect backdrop to unwind, chat, or even study. For a date night that’s both laid-back and full of character, this place is a winner.
The staff here have a knack for serving up exactly what you’re after—even if you’re not quite sure what that is yet. So, do yourself a favor and lose a few hours in this whisky lover’s paradise. You won’t regret it.

Kangaroo Point Cliffs is a stunning Brisbane gem, perfect for a date night or a day out. The walking tracks are well-maintained, with linemarking to keep cyclists and walkers separate, and there are plenty of cute picnic spots scattered throughout.
The views of the Brisbane River provide a picturesque backdrop that’s perfect for snapping photos. The view across the river towards the city is definitely worth taking in, making it a great spot if you’ve got some time to kill and want to stay active. There’s also a large rock wall where climbers practice their skills—it’s fun to watch and adds a bit of extra excitement to your visit.
With plenty of green spaces, it’s an ideal spot for picnics or simply unwinding. Just keep in mind that the park can get pretty crowded, especially on weekends.
Pro tip: For a more secluded experience, there’s a great ‘secret spot’—turn right at the bottom of the stairs on the café side. The grassy areas near the canoe club offer shade from the trees and are tucked away from the main path. |

The large food menu is fairly priced, and all the games are budget-friendly—don’t miss trying “Cold Beer,” a personal favorite!

The Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary is a fantastic spot brimming with wonderful Australian wildlife.
The koalas are undoubtedly the main attraction, and you can pay a little extra to get up close for a photo (just $34 for a group of four) or even hold one for around $45 if you’re flying solo—it’s an unforgettable experience!
All the animals are well cared for and have plenty of enrichment. While the koalas steal the show, there are many other fascinating creatures to see, including platypus, dingoes, crocodiles, Tasmanian devils, snakes, and a fun kangaroo feeding area.
Pro tip: If you opt for the boat ride, it might limit your time with the animals since it arrives at 10:15 and leaves at 1:30, meaning many shows and experiences may happen before or after your visit. So, plan accordingly! |
Go Rock Climbing at Urban Climb

Urban Climb is an excellent climbing gym that offers extensive bouldering and rope climbing options. It features both a bouldering gym and a rope climbing area, so you can mix it up!
If you’re a first-timer, you can snag a deal for $26, which includes shoe rental and free entries for the next two weeks, covering both the gym and yoga classes! The climbs are incredibly well set, with a wide variety of routes that are genuinely challenging and fun.
The grading system here uses a color-coded method, which can be a bit confusing at first since the ropes share the same system as the bouldering section, but it doesn’t take away from the enjoyment.
The routes are creative and cater to many different climbing styles. And don’t forget to check out the café—it serves absolutely delicious coffee right next to the climbing wall!
Pro tip: Just keep in mind that it gets pretty busy during the afternoon peak, so if you can’t make a booking, it’s best to climb earlier or try another location. |
