5 Best Ballet Studios in Brisbane for Kids, Adults and Future Pros

Instructor Qualifications and Syllabus: I checked teacher credentials and experience. I also looked for set syllabi like Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and Vaganova. A set teaching plan keeps lessons structured, safe, and correct.

Facility and Studio Standards: I looked at sprung floors, mirrors and barre space in each studio. A sprung floor cuts the strain on joints and helps prevent injury.

Class Variety and Inclusivity: I reviewed the programs on offer, from beginners to advanced dancers. Easy schedules, drop-in passes, and clear skill levels help every dancer find a fit.

Student Support and Growth: I checked for performance chances, private coaching, and audition pathways. Clear feedback and progression routes build confidence over time.

The right ballet studio can change how you train, whether you want better core strength, classical lessons for your child, or a return to adult open classes.

But Brisbane studios differ a lot in teaching style, facilities, and flexibility. It can be hard to choose when there are so many things to consider.

That’s why I compared their syllabus, studio quality and class options to see which ones deliver. After much research, here are the best ballet studios in Brisbane for dancers of every age and level!

Stepping into a studio with huge classes can feel overwhelming when you want focused feedback. Just Ballet School keeps classes small so instructors can fine-tune your alignment and technique every week.

Founded by Zac Fang, this Mount Gravatt studio covers everything from 5-year-old developmental levels to adult beginner sessions and high-intensity pointe work.

The setup suits parents too. When I dropped by to watch an intermediate class, I liked seeing parents follow the lesson on live screens in the waiting area. It’s a nice touch for parents who want to see how the lesson goes.

On the flip side, the audition-only Elite Program needs a firm two-class weekly commitment, which won’t suit anyone who wants a casual setup.

Pros

  • Classes for all ages
  • Progressive skill pathways
  • Small class sizes
  • Live parent monitoring screens

Cons

  • Elite program needs an audition and two classes a week

They pay attention to every detail to ensure that each student masters

The dance teachers at Just Ballet School have exceptional professionalism and patience. My appreciation and love for ballet has grown tremendously since attending classes with Zac, whose professional guidance and gentle teaching methods have not only improved my skills, but also ignited a deep passion for ballet. They pay attention to every detail to ensure that each student masters the essence of each movement. His dedication and approachability made my ballet learning journey enjoyable and fulfilling.

and trusting himself in something he knew nothing about.

My oldest of three children who joined Ballet, (he wouldn’t have known if he had liked dance as he had never tried it). He was really unsure what to expect, but offering a boys-only class and a male teacher, each lesson I could see him come out of class a little brighter. After our first term I could see there was a spark. We celebrated 6mnths of his journey and mostly focused on the dedication he put into trusting Zac and trusting himself in something he knew nothing about.

Cons

  • Community classes are a secondary focus

I loved the service and attention, from the purchase process

I have a Working Holiday visa, and as a tourist from Perú, I was very happy to be able to take one ballet class at such a beautiful school. The classes are A1 level, and I learned a lot and I hope to come back soon. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to take casual classes. I loved the service and attention, from the purchase process all the way to the class. My heart is filled with joy. 💖🩰

Dancers chasing intense technical growth often look for the Russian Vaganova method. Qld National Ballet School in Stafford teaches it across seven big studios with sprung floors, an on-site theatre and dedicated warm-up gyms.

The facilities make a difference day to day. A friend of mine who trains in their evening track says the sprung floors save her knees during jump combinations.

Their accredited diploma pathways and Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) ballet classes suit long-term professional careers.

Beyond ballet, they teach contemporary styles and repertoire classes for kids, teens and adults.

However, the upper-level elite pathways need a competitive audition, so prepare for that before you apply.

Pros

  • Russian Vaganova training
  • Seven sprung floor studios
  • On-site performance theatre
  • Accredited career pathways

Cons

  • Elite pathways need a competitive audition

I highly recommend this amazing ballet school for their professionalism

Queensland National Ballet School is an outstanding ballet school for full time students aspiring for a career in dance, and an inclusive school for students looking to be part of an excellent after school program. I can’t thank the Directors and teaching staff enough for their dedication to their students.  I highly recommend this amazing ballet school for their professionalism and quality dance education!

Address: 14 Chrome St, Salisbury

Contact: 0449 978 113 | [email protected]

Hours: Wednesday sessions for children and teens; adult classes scheduled per school term

A recreational class works best when the studio values confidence as much as technique. Dance Pointe in Salisbury teaches balanced ballet to toddlers, teens and adults who want to learn without heavy pressure.

That welcoming approach helps beginners build coordination and flexibility while making lasting friends in weekly classes.

On top of ballet, they offer tap, jazz, and acrobatics, so students get plenty of variety.

Affordable trial packages also let families sample the teaching style before they commit to a full term.

Their welcoming approach helps beginners build coordination and flexibility while making lasting friends through enjoyable weekly classes.

Just be aware that their schedule follows Queensland school terms, so adult recreational sessions pause during school holidays.

Pros

  • Friendly trial packages
  • Wide variety of styles
  • Supportive adult classes
  • Welcoming for toddlers to adults

Cons

  • Schedule follows school terms, so classes pause in holidays

The staff are amazing, patient and are fantastic teachers

An absolutely wonderful dance studio! Both my son and daughter attend for hip hop and ballet. The staff are amazing, patient and are fantastic teachers also allowing the more experienced students be student teachers which I think is absolutely fantastic. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great local studio for their little dancers.

The school maintains a high standard of discipline

My children have been dancing at dance point through tinies and juniors. We love the dance school that has a body positive and inclusive focus – let’s face, not everyone is going to be a professional dancer, so feeling like teachers can meet you where you are at is important to ensure all children are enjoying their classes. The school maintains a high standard of discipline in terms of uniform for class and presentation for concerts or exams, but still feels fun and friendly.

5. Annette Roselli Dance Academy

Address: 2/27 Millennium Pl, Tingalpa

Contact: 0400 664 661 | [email protected]

Hours: Class times vary by program (children’s, adult evening, elite and seasonal workshops)

Parents who care about exam credentials want a teacher who knows the syllabus inside out. Annette Roselli Dance Academy in Tingalpa fits, since an International Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Ballet Examiner leads it.

Students follow the RAD curriculum used around the world, with direct access to accredited exams and private coaching.

That focus on precision suits dancers who want a structured path forward, and the experienced instructors stress discipline, artistry and technique.

For extra practice, they also run intensive holiday workshops taught by former professional soloists.

That said, the academy’s heavy focus on elite performance can feel intense for casual dancers. And children pay a $70 annual membership on top of class fees.

Pros

  • Led by an International RAD Examiner
  • Accredited examination pathways
  • Former soloist teaching staff
  • Private coaching

Cons

  • Intense for casual dancers
  • Annual child membership fee

As a parent I know she is being cared for physically and mentally.

My daughter has trained at the Annette Roselli Dance Academy for over 5 years now. It’s her happy place. She just love the teachers, staff and culture at ARDA. The training is of the highest standard and she adores being a part of one of the incredibly successful performance teams.  ARDA has provider her with many opportunities from dancing at last years Lord Mayors Xmas Carols to being a part of the Australian Ballet Interstate Training program. As a parent I know she is being cared for physically and mentally. We are so very happy with our wonderful dance school.
