5 Best Indoor Playgrounds in Brisbane for Rainy Days and Parties

  • Safety and age separation: I checked whether each venue keeps fenced, dedicated play zones for different age groups. Mixing toddlers with active pre-teens often leads to bumps and tears.
  • Pricing and extra fees: I looked at standard entry rates, multi-pass savings, and adult entry fees. Hidden charges like required grip socks quickly stretch a family budget.
  • Variety of activities: I compared the mix of options, including obstacle courses, laser tag and mini golf. Kids get bored fast when a venue only has one climbing frame or slide.
  • Parent comfort and catering: I reviewed the cafe menus, dietary options, and how well you can see the play area from your seat. Hours of supervising are easier with comfortable seating and decent food.

When rainy days or scorching afternoons hit, keeping energetic kids busy at home usually ends in chaos.

An indoor playground gives them space to run around, but only if the entry fee, play zones and activities suit your family. So I compared Brisbane venues on all three. That way, you’ll know where your kids can burn off energy while you grab a coffee in peace.

After much research, here are the best indoor playgrounds in Brisbane for toddlers, older kids and birthday parties.

How much does an indoor playground cost in Brisbane?

An indoor playground in Brisbane costs $12 to $35 per child, depending on age and peak times.

Toddlers (1 to 2 years)$12 to $19.90

1. The Jungle Adventure Play Tingalpa

the-jungle-adventure-play-tingalpa

Website: thejungletribe.com.au

Address: 31 Proprietary Street, Tingalpa

Contact: 07 3147 8013 | [email protected]

Hours: Monday to Thursday, 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM | Friday, 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM | Saturday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM | Sunday, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM | Sessions every 30 minutes, walk-ins welcome

Keeping children of different ages entertained in one spot often leaves either the toddler or the big kid feeling left out.

The Jungle Adventure Play Tingalpa tackles that with an 800-square-metre playground for kids aged 2 to 10, plus climbing walls, high ropes and mini golf for older guests. Younger visitors even get a specialised Cubs Playground built for ages 0 to 2.

I dropped by during a busy period and saw the separate spaces in action, with tiny toddlers kept in the Cubs area, away from older kids racing toward the Ninja Warrior course. That split keeps the little ones safe while older kids burn off energy.

Beyond everyday play, they also run birthday party packages, holiday programs, and sensory-friendly sessions. That makes them handy for special occasions and school breaks.

However, grip socks are required and cost an extra $3.50 to $5.00, which adds up quickly for a family.

Pros

  • Climbing walls, high ropes, slides and mini golf
  • Dedicated play area for ages 0 to 2
  • Birthday party packages and holiday programs
  • Sensory-friendly sessions and special events

Cons

  • Extra charge for grip socks

A fair bit of high play equipment, in case your kid is scared of heights.

Lots of fun for the kiddos. Mini Golf, slides, zip line, ninja course, rock climbing. Good selection of food and drinks(licenced). A fair bit of high play equipment, in case your kid is scared of heights.

What an amazing place to keep kids and parents entertained and active! My 6yo daughter loved the high ropes and the canopy zip line. The place is very clean and noise levels even when busy are manageable. Very helpful staff and patient with the kids.

2. Game Over Brisbane

game-over-brisbane

Website: gameoverbrisbane.com.au

Address: 2175 Ipswich Road, Oxley

Contact: 07 5519 3999 | [email protected]

Hours: Monday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM (school holidays only, closed in school term) | Tuesday to Thursday, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM | Friday to Saturday, 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM | Sunday, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Finding an indoor spot that suits both primary school kids and picky teenagers usually means a compromise.

Game Over Brisbane avoids that by offering some unusual activities for kids. Electric go-karts, laser tag, an arcade and the GoPlay soft play area all sit inside one building.

You can even bundle them into package deals, which saves money compared with buying individual passes.

The Mini Ultimate Combo shows how that works. Kids aged 4 to 6 get a mini-kart race, a laser tag match, a mini golf round and a playground session.

Birthdays are covered too. When I spoke to staff about group bookings, they explained that party packages include reserved tables and hot catering in the price, which makes planning a party far less stressful for parents.

However, the venue is closed on Mondays during the school term, which limits early-week play.

Karting and the main attractions also carry strict age limits. Only kids aged 4 and above can use mini carts. Some attractions also only allow kids aged 4 and up.

Pros

  • Go-karting, laser tag, mini golf and soft play
  • Discounted combo passes
  • Catering and reserved seating in party packages
  • Mini Ultimate Combo for ages 4 to 6

Cons

  • Closed on Mondays in school term
  • Strict age limits on karting and main attractions

My son just celebrated his 9th birthday here, and he said it was the best party!

My son just celebrated his 9th birthday here, and he said it was the best party! They had a blast on the go-karts, in laser tag, and playing in the arcade.

A giant thank you to Sasha, our party host for guiding the activities and helping all our guests get prepped—she was amazing. The venue is clean, spacious, and the entire team is friendly and accommodating, even with a very loud group of boys! The air-conditioned party room was a major bonus for parents wanting a quiet area to socialize while giving the kids room to move. Highly recommended!

The work place was very tidy, The workers were very organised

We absolutely loved our experience.  The work place was very tidy, The workers were very organised and welcoming.  As a family we absolutely loved the Arcade and the Laser tag which was so much fun. And loved the Go Karts, my favorite part which brought our competitiveness. The Putt putt was a good addition whilst we filled in the time. Can’t wait to come back for more fun!

tiddlywinks-dance-play-cafe

Website: tiddlywinks.com.au

Address: 264 Melton Road, Nundah

Contact: 07 3266 8484

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM | Saturday to Sunday, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Standard indoor play centres can feel repetitive if your young child prefers music and active games over endless climbing.

Tiddlywinks Dance & Play Cafe pairs a three-storey play structure with daily disco and dance sessions led by enthusiastic DJs. Kids burn off energy on the dance floor between runs down the slides.

Entry includes full access to the play equipment and two guided disco sessions, so one ticket covers the whole visit.

Parents are looked after, too. As one of the cafes with play areas in Brisbane, they give parents an air-conditioned seating area with free Wi-Fi and fresh food that’s never deep-fried.

The kitchen also caters to vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free diets, so snack time works for families with special food needs.

However, they close at 2:30 PM on weekdays, which rules out after-school visits.

Pros

  • Soft play frames plus daily disco sessions
  • Entry includes two guided disco sessions
  • Air-conditioned cafe with free Wi-Fi
  • Vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options

Cons

  • Closes at 2:30 PM on weekdays

This place is absolutely fantastic. Such great value for money

This place is absolutely fantastic. Such great value for money considering the kids get two discos plus a show in the school holidays. The soft play area and healthy food options in the cafe are also great bonuses to a fun day out. Colin the owner is second to none. His passion and love for what he does shines through all the genuine conversations he has with everyone there. I can’t recommend Toddlywinks enough – just wish they had one on the Southside too!

4. Chipmunks Playland & Café MacGregor

Website: chipmunksplayland.com.au/macgregor

Address: 7/555 Kessels Road, MacGregor

Contact: 0498 004 158 | [email protected]

Hours: Monday to Saturday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM | Sunday, 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Rough play from older children can easily frighten young toddlers in large indoor spaces.

Chipmunks Playland & Café MacGregor handles that worry by splitting the floor into two zones. Kids aged 0 to 4 play in the cushioned Mini Zone, and children aged 5 to 11 get their own Main Zone.

Their multi-entry passes lower the cost per visit compared with single passes, which rewards regular visitors.

A friend of mine takes her toddlers here regularly and loves that adults enter free, which keeps weekly outings reasonable.

Supervising is easy too. The cafe sits in full view of the play zones, so parents can sip coffee while they watch.

However, adults can’t go onto the slides or play structures, so you can’t give hands-on help to a child who needs it.

Pros

  • Age-separated zones for younger and older kids
  • Multi-entry pass discounts
  • Free entry for supervising adults
  • Cafe in full view of the play zones

Cons

  • Adults can’t go onto the play structures

Our favourite weekly visit, staff are always friendly and informative, a great range of delicious variety of food options personal favourite is their crispy chicken wrap. We enjoyed our 1.5 hours together in the play area.

We brought our under 1 year old daughter first time recently. They said it’s free for her. We enjoyed our 1.5 hours together in the play area. It is so good and convenient place for babies and kids and children definitely. Play area could be bigger and better. It looks like too many tables and seats. But it is still enough rooms to play for them. Cafe products are also very delicious 👌🏼 Thanks for the kind service.

5. Rainbow City Play Centre

rainbow-city-play-centre

Website: rainbowcplaycentre.com.au

Address: Unit F, 5–15 Lapis Street, Underwood

Contact: 07 3290 0434 | [email protected]

Hours: Wednesday to Saturday, 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM | Monday, Tuesday and Sunday, closed for general entry

Finding a calm venue for toddlers can be tough when mega-parks dominate the region. Rainbow City Play Centre focuses on younger children with four specialised play spaces.

These include a fully fenced junior zone with mock roads, ride-on cars and city-themed playhouses.

The fenced perimeter means toddlers can’t wander into busier areas, so they can play freely and safely. The gentle, scaled-down equipment also lets young children build confidence without feeling overwhelmed by steep slides or loud crowds.

Parents get a break too. The on-site cafe serves light meals and drinks, so you can grab a bite while the little ones play.

Parties are well covered as well. They offer private venue hire and themed party rooms, which makes them a popular hub for early childhood birthdays.

The catch is their limited operating window. General entry runs only from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Wednesday to Saturday. This means Monday, Tuesday, and Sunday visits aren’t possible.

Pros

  • Fenced junior zone with ride-on cars and mock roads
  • Four specialised play spaces
  • On-site cafe with light meals and drinks
  • Party rooms and private venue hire

Cons

  • Open only Wednesday to Saturday, 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM

A lot of fun for the little one in a safe space with soft mats and gates. I could sit and have a coffee while watching her play in full view. Only feedback is to have straws for baby cinos please so it doesn’t spill everywhere
