Pros
- In the business since 1989
- E-counselling and telehealth
- Easy booking process
- Open on weekends
Cons
- Same-day appointments can be a challenge
- Handles a lot of clients daily
Since 1989, Brisbane Couselling Centre has been assisting Brisbane residents to have peaceful and healthier lives. With the help of their kind psychologists, we feel that we can speak to them with no judgment.
We love how accommodating their client service team is, which makes booking relatively easy and fast. We even commend their receptionists for giving us a quick walk-through on the types of counselling they offer.
In line with this, the company also shares how one can prepare for the initial session, which helps in making clients feel more relaxed and comfortable.
However, same-day appointments can be quite a challenge since the clinic handles a number of clients on a daily basis. Nonetheless, the clinic has weekend slots, so no need to worry about securing the earliest possible schedule.
Aside from individual couselling, they also cater those who need guidance with their marriage. Some of their psychologists have been trained to handle family situations, too.
Another thing we love about them is that they even handle concerns related to health & well-being, sports, and even corporate or business. Being able to handle all these facets signals the company’s targeted expertise, which we admire.
It’s also commendable that Brisbane Counselling Centre has opened their online counselling, perfect for those who would want to avail their support, but are inconvenienced with physical appointments.
No need to worry about security and confidentiality during e-counselling sessions. The company still exerts the same level of connection and support they have during in-person consultations.
The company also acknowledges medicare plans and health rebates, which makes them a good choice for those who may need to plan their budget wisely.
On top of that, we love that privacy is still addressed with utmost concern on health fund rebates. We are confident that the company uses a very dependable encryption system which can only be the chosen health provider.

Pros
- Convenient location; clinic is located close to the centre of the city
- Calls clients to remind the next appointment
Cons
- Some reports of needing to increase level of compassion
- Few reports of clients receiving spam emails
Located near the centre of the city, Brisbane Wellbeing Psychologists has been a convenient safe space – a trusted partner in addressing life’s challenges and issues.
What’s great about the company is that they even call clients to remind them of their succeeding sessions. This tells us how they are truly hands on and reliable.
On the other hand, the company also offers booking through their website. However, we do not recommend this option, as Brisbane Wellbeing Psychologists can deal with a huge mass of email messages from time to time.
Speaking of email, we’ve heard a few reports about them sending clients a lot of weekly emails about mental health. If this may feel uncomfortable, we suggest alerting the clinic to remove you from the list of sendees.
On a lighter note, we like how the company remains upfront with cost. We appreciate that we can get a rough estimate of appointment fees, including rebates straight from their website.
To prove their credibility, we’re pleased to know that all their psychologists hold a Masters Degree, or even higher. This helps us feel more secure, knowing that they can deliver outstanding quality expert advice.

Pros
- In the business since 2014
- Diverse services for adolescents and adults
- Flexible payment options; offers bulk billing
Cons
- Closed on weekends
- Quite challenging to contact the office
- Few reports on slow reverts
Since 2014, Ascent Psychology has been providing counselling services to patients in Brisbane.
Compared to its counterparts, Ascent Psychology focuses on giving emotional support to adolescents and adults. But this doesn’t mean that this company doesn’t provide other services.
Though not as diverse as the others, the company can also attend to families. They can help with communication hurdles, parenting struggles, as well as sibling rivalries.
Spanish-speaking patients will surely feel more comfortable as the company has resident psychologists who can speak the language, which we admire.
Now, those who are not comfortable with in-person appointments can also opt for online consultations. However, the clinic isn’t open on weekends so you’ll have to sacrifice time on weekdays or switch to another clinic.
Meanwhile, in terms of payment, we love that Ascent Psychology has a Bulk Billing program, wherein clients can avail treatment in more convenient payment terms.
Even better, clients can even inform the clinic about their financial concerns from the get-go. This tells us that patients may seek immediate attention without having to worry about fees for a moment.

Pros
- Lead for National Suicide Prevention Trial
- Wide range of counselling services
- Also open on Saturdays
Cons
- Few reports on needing to improve establishing rapport
- Few reviews about lapses in verifying medical history of clients
Since 2007, Centre for Human Potential has been providing counselling services and treatment for the people of Brisbane.
With their wide range of services, the company is able to extend their treatment and facilities across all ages, including teens, families, and even organisations.
Through the years, the company has been able to establish rapport and trust, which really helped build their strong client base.
We like that all therapists and psychologists are equipped with outstanding and top-notch training, which covers a wide range of psychoanalytic and psychological techniques.
This tells us that the company can relate to all concerns – from mental to emotional.
We admire the admin staff and receptionists of the Centre for Human Potential for showcasing the company’s affectionate side from the get-go. We think that this is vital, since receptionists are the first ones to make a lasting impression.
However, we’ve still heard about some therapists who need to establish good rapport. We think that further training could help them resolve this matter.
Another highlighted program from Centre for Human Potential is their initiative to lead the National Suicide Prevention Trial in North Brisbane and Moreton Bay. This tells us that the company is proactive in getting to know the society even further.

Pros
- Comprehensive yet youthfully-designed website
- Wide range of services; can provide support and care across all ages
Cons
- Deals with a lot of clients
- Some reports of overlooked online appointments
First thing that we noticed about Axis Clinic is their comprehensive yet youthfully-designed website. Their team’s collaborative spirit is pretty evident in the layout, which helps us better understand what services they offer.
We love that they can provide assistance across all ages, too. Even better, Axis Clinic can be a trusted partner in taking a proactive approach for early interventions.
All treatments and consultations aren’t just based on what’s written in the books. We are pleased to see how their team of therapists and psychologists take their time in fully understanding a patient’s history and current experience.
This tells us that the company is really keen in showing genuine care and support to every patient they talk to. Because of this, we’re not surprised to see a number of clients returning for their services.
However, because of the high influx of clients, we’ve heard that some appointments made online are often overlooked. We think that it may be best to contact the clinic directly, especially for new clients.
Nonetheless, we are still pleased to deal with a clinic with a vast area of expertise for care and support. Whether it’s for individuals, couples with challenging connections, or family support, Axis Clinic can help turn a difficult situation into a healthy one.
