5 Best Mental Health Clinics in Brisbane to Help You Move Forward

Clinical Specialisation: We looked at what each practice really focuses on, so you get proper expert care instead of just general advice.

Funding and Rebates: We checked if they accept things like Medicare Mental Health Care Plans, NDIS funding, or other subsidies, since affordability matters for long-term support.

Format and Accessibility: We also considered how easy it is to book sessions, whether that’s telehealth, home visits, or in-person appointments, so it fits into real-life schedules.

Care Culture: We paid attention to whether the clinics feel warm, respectful, and non-judgmental, because feeling safe and supported makes a big difference in therapy.

Finding support when you’re dealing with burnout or trauma can feel really heavy, and you shouldn’t have to go through it alone.

If you’re looking for the best mental health clinic in Brisbane, it’s often just about taking that first step toward feeling a bit more like yourself again.

Some people feel supported working with experienced psychotherapists, while others find clinical hypnosis helps them get deeper relief. It really comes down to what feels right for you.

You deserve a space that feels safe, calm, and easy to open up in. So, we’ve put together Brisbane clinics that focus on genuine care and support to help you start feeling better, one step at a time.

Address: 97 Turbot St

Contact: 721 402 500

Hours: Monday – Friday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Patients dealing with severe, treatment-resistant depression can access specialised Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) at this dedicated facility.

The focus is really on this medication-free, non-invasive approach that works by targeting specific brain circuits to help support neuroplasticity and mood improvement.

A friend of mine actually tried their Intermittent Theta Burst Stimulation (iTBS) sessions here and said the staff were really kind and supportive throughout the process.

They also provide traditional psychology and counselling services, so you can get a more complete level of mental health support in one place. That mix makes it easier if you want both therapy and TMS under the same roof.

On the downside, their admin system still feels pretty old-school since a lot of it is paper-based, which can make scheduling a bit slower.

Some people have also mentioned that the waiting room could use better sound privacy, and a few felt mild discomfort during their first stimulation sessions before adjusting over time.

Pros

  • Specialised in TMS and iTBS treatments
  • Integrated psychology and counselling
  • Non-invasive drug-free options
  • Focuses on treatment-resistant depression

Cons

  • Uses paper-based scheduling systems
  • Limited waiting room sound privacy
  • Initial physical equipment discomfort

To anyone who wants to improve their mental health

I have recently completed my TMS treatment and maintenance at TMS HUBB. I couldnt praise the treatment, centre, or staff any higher. My experience was extraordinary and I achieved some pretty amazing results.

Id recommended this to anyone who wants to improve their mental health where other options haven’t helped before. Tip – when doing TMS treatment, also try to work on and be positive outside of it. I didnt even do that and still experienced some mind blowing results but I can imagine doing both together you could achieve some amazing things!

Such a wonderful thing that this treatment is medicare funded! Everybody should get on board. TMS HUBB is an immaculate studio providing great, individualised and sincere care. I can’t speak highly enough of Ramo and his team – and the comfort they’ve provided during my progress with treament

Veterans and active Australian Defence Force (ADF) members can access fast, specialised psychiatric support through Medilinks.

As a veteran-owned clinic, they focus heavily on ADF mental health compensation assessments and preparing Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) reports, often completing them within four weeks.

Because the team understands military life from personal experience, a lot of clients find it easier to open up and feel understood.

Plus, everything is done through telehealth, which makes it really convenient for Brisbane-based clients. Eligible patients can even access services with zero out-of-pocket costs.

If you already have a DVA report request, you may not even need a GP referral to get started.

Just keep in mind that there are no face-to-face sessions since they operate fully online. They’re also quite focused on what they do, mainly handling diagnostic and impairment reporting, so they don’t provide ongoing therapy or day-to-day medication management.

Pros

  • Veteran-owned with lived ADF experience
  • Fast four-week report turnaround
  • No out-of-pocket costs for eligible veterans
  • No GP referral needed for DVA requests

Cons

  • No face-to-face appointments
  • No general ongoing public therapy

Never once made me feel Small or silly

Very supportive and empathetic toward veterans and understanding the unique work we have had to do.  It’s evident they have experience with Veterans mental health as they know the lingo and never once made me feel Small or silly.  I live regional and all appointments were conducted over zoom, the process was made easy.

Offering a well rounded service

A very outcome focused, team of professionals.  They are well experienced in pain management and veteran care.

They have a good team of support staff across pain management and mental health, offering a well rounded service

Families and individuals can find focused support at Anxiety House Brisbane Southside. They’re an anxiety-only specialist clinic working with children, teens, and adults.

Their team of clinical psychologists uses evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and they also stay active in research, which helps keep their methods up to date and effective.

I actually got to visit their space and chat with the team, and they felt really welcoming and easy to talk to.

Another thing that stands out is their pricing, which is set below the usual recommended rates to make therapy more accessible. And if you’ve got a health care plan, you can also claim Medicare rebates here.

However, some clients have noted differences in communication styles, with a few feeling that options weren’t always explained clearly or feedback wasn’t handled as well as expected.

  • Fees set below the recommended national rates
  • Active in-house research program

Cons

Their office is professional, yet calming and I enjoy coming to my sessions.
