Locations and Hours

Crystal Castle is officially located at 81 Monet Drive, Mullumbimby, NSW. It’s open daily, from 10 am to 5 pm. 

However, entry is only allowed until 4 pm as visitors are encouraged to allow enough time to explore the grounds and exhibits before closing. 

Crystal Castle is closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and Good Friday.

Admission

Concession and adult tickets are $45 each, family tickets for 2 adults and 2 children are $119, and children’s tickets (ages 4 to 14) are $35.

For those who want to visit more frequently, the Unlimited Entry Annual Pass is available. For adults, it costs $78, while for families it’s $178.

Travel Time from Brisbane

The time it takes to reach Crystal Castle can vary depending on when you go. Expect heavy traffic from Brisbane to the Gold Coast every afternoon between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., and on Saturday mornings, unless you start before 7 a.m. 

The drive should take about 1 hour and 45 minutes. However, during busy times, you could easily add 30 minutes or more to your journey. The best way to get there is by car, as public transport options aren’t very convenient for this route.

How to Get to Crystal Castle

From Brisbane: Take the M3/Pacific Motorway towards the Gold Coast. Stay on the M3 and then take the Gulgan Road/Brunswick Heads/Mullumbimby exit. Crystal Castle is just a 9-minute drive from there.

From Gold Coast Airport: Start by driving on Eastern Avenue. At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit to stay on Eastern Avenue, then turn right onto the Gold Coast Highway and continue straight.

From Byron Bay: Take Ewingsdale Road, then turn left onto Possum Shoot Road. Follow Coolamon Scenic Drive and turn right onto Monet Drive to reach Crystal Castle.

This half-kilometer trail offers stunning views of Byron’s hinterland. As you stroll, you’ll come across giant crystals, lush sub-tropical gardens, and impressive statues. Highlights include a serene bamboo walk and peaceful spots ideal for meditation and reflection.

Take a moment to admire the statues along the way. Each is meticulously hand-carved from volcanic rock from Gunung Merapi, the same stone used for the famous Borobudur monument in Java, Indonesia.

You might also notice coins on the statues. These are left by visitors and are donated to a Tibetan Kindergarten in Northern India to support and preserve Tibetan culture.
