The treehouse was tucked high in the canopy, offering stunning views of the lush rainforest. From the moment I arrived, with sparkling wine and chocolates waiting, I felt instantly relaxed. 

The blend of luxury and nature—whether lounging in the spa bath or enjoying a quiet morning on the deck—made it a memorable getaway. If you need a break, this place is a hidden gem you’ll want to discover.

The best time to visit Pethers Rainforest Retreat is anytime throughout the year. However, July is the most popular month for visitors. If you’re looking for a more affordable room, consider booking during the low season for better rates.

How to Get to Pethers Rainforest Retreat

The only way to get to Pethers Rainforest Retreat is by car, as there’s no available public transportation in the location where it’s situated. 

Drive towards M1 and take  exit 38 toward State Rte 96/Jacobs Well Rd/Yatala (North). From there, you’ll come across five roundabouts.

At the first roundabout, take the 5th exit onto Stapylton Jacobs Well Rd.

At the second, take the 1st exit onto Elderslie Rd.

On the third one, take the 2nd exit onto Stanmore Rd.

At the fourth roundabout, take the 2nd exit and stay on Stanmore Rd. 

Lastly, take the 2nd exit. Follow Stanmore Road and take a left onto Beaudesert Beenleigh Rd/State Route 92.

You’ll encounter another roundabout where you will take the 1st exit onto Tamborine Mountain Rd/State Route 95. Next, drive onto Geissmann Dr and turn right onto Main Street and a left onto Geissmann St. 

Keep driving straight and Pethers Rainforest Retreat will be on your right.

At Pethers, staying in their private treehouse is where you’re surrounded by lush rainforest. The treehouse had everything you could want for a peaceful getaway: a cozy fireplace, air conditioning, a king-sized bed, and a spa that’s perfect for two. 

You also have these huge glass windows—five meters high—where you have breathtaking views of the surrounding subtropical rainforest, and the outdoor balcony makes it easy to feel fully immersed in nature. 

From inside, you will only hear soothing melodies of the forest.

For larger groups like families and circle friends, the Pethers House is the perfect choice. You have your own private rainforest setting, with incredible views from a large wraparound deck. It’s peaceful and quiet, and most of all, private. 

The space is spacious, has an open design, with a kitchen, dining, and lounge areas all showcasing rainforest views and easy access to the deck. There’s an indoor fireplace with complimentary wood, cozy throw blankets, and a whole lot more.

You’ll be staying high up the trees of Tamborine Mountain in  Flora and Fauna. This accommodation is nestled beneath the rainforest canopy. Since you’re in a  rainforest, you’ll encounter a variety of local wildlife here.

This includes rainforest birds, possums, and rare creatures such as the elusive Albert’s Lyrebird, which, if you’re lucky, can sometimes be seen near the stream by Treehouses 5 and 6.

Set around a spacious, open-sided, and elevated fireplace with views of the rainforest, this restaurant offers a stunning view that perfectly complements their European-influenced cuisine.

The Pethers Rainforest Restaurant offers a dinner-only menu.The meal here starts off strong – the scallops and roast pumpkin were both excellent choices for entrees. 

For the mains, the poached sea perch and gnocchi were equally impressive. For dessert, lemon curd and poached pear on one side, and a rich chocolate torte on the other.

Every dish during dinner, from the entree to the main, was delicious, packed with flavor, and served in generous portions. Their menu is updated based on seasonal availability.

Pethers Rainforest Retreat has a monthly High Tea where you get to indulge in an array of delicious sweet and savory treats, all while surrounded by the lush greenery of the rainforest.

This is held on the last Sunday of every month, at a special introductory price of $59 per person for August and September, with the price at $65 per person from October 2024.

The menu is crafted by their Head Chef and Pastry Chef, and it’s ideal for gatherings, celebrations, or a romantic afternoon for two.

The restaurant is a stunning retreat, elegantly decorated with fairy lights and nestled among rainforest trees, offering a truly magical setting.

It’s wonderfully secluded but still conveniently close to Gallery Walk and nearby wineries. Keep an eye out for a large cane toad, bush turkeys, and wallabies around the property.
