10 Best Wedding Photography Services in Brisbane

How We Picked the Best Wedding Photography Services in Brisbane

Portfolio: We looked at the scope of the photographer’s portfolio, the different weddings they’ve shot, as well as other types of events or services they offer.
Quality: Of course, we only want the best for a once in a lifetime event like this, so we checked the quality of the photos from its composition to digital or print rendering.
Professionalism: A wedding can be big or even really intimate, but no matter the scale, the important thing is how each moment is captured with much care and professionalism. We talked to some clients to ask about their experience.
Pricing: We checked to see if price points are reasonable and if they offer comprehensive service packages that will help couples save up on costs.

Pros

  • Award-winning wedding photographer
  • No travel fee for venues in Brisbane and nearby areas

Cons

  • Steep rates
  • Videography services need to be sourced somewhere else

Tom Hall Photography instantly gets a spot on our list as he’s a multi-awarded wedding photographer and has shot over 300 weddings in Brisbane and other locations.

His wedding photography style is casual and classic but we think he goes beyond that with what he’s shown so far, most notably, in his award-winning pieces.

From what we’ve seen, he’s able to use every bit of detail creatively, from the setting’s beautiful landscape down to the bride’s dainty stilettos. So we think he’s one of the best wedding photographers that’s worth giving a shot.

He’s known for his artistry in the post-processing of images, so don’t expect that he’ll supply you with the raw photos as he treats this process as if he’s capturing the moment for the first time again.

You can choose from 6 to 12 hour wedding photography packages which include services such as pre-wedding day consultation to a personalised online gallery.

From what we heard from clients, Tom is very professional and passionate about his job. It’s great that he’s able to maximise all the elements of a scene.

Additionally, shooting at unfamiliar locations isn’t a problem at all, rain or shine.

We think the only downside is, you might have to spend more if your heart is set on booking him as your wedding photographer. Approximate rate is at $4,999.

He is a multi-awarded artist after all, so it somehow makes sense if his rates come at a higher cost.

Pros

  • Very bubbly and fun to work with
  • Packages are customisable

Cons

  • Bookings should be done as early as possible
  • All slots booked for 2022, 2023 slots are open and filling up

We definitely think it will be a joy to have Joy Philippe Photography capture your most precious memories.

If you’re looking for someone who’s like a friend, someone who’ll be there for you and make your most treasured moments last, then look no further! As Joy likes to say, she’s a professional third-wheeler.

What we love about her is her bubbly personality which will instantly make you feel comfortable while maintaining a sense of professionalism as well.

When it comes to her style, she likes it bright and airy and loves capturing moments as they unfold naturally.

She prefers everything raw and unscripted and we think this is best for couples who might feel awkward to be in front of the camera. She’s also good at blending in with the crowd and you won’t even notice that she’s there, which is great.

In addition, she also offers wedding albums and prints. While it might be easier and cheaper to just store all of your photos in a hard drive, we think it’s best to have them printed as they deserve to be displayed on your wall or in an album.

However, if you’re planning to book her for your big day, make sure to contact her as early as possible. Some clients even book as far as two years before their wedding date.

When it comes to pricing, her packages are customisable as she believes there’s really no “one size fits all” for weddings. We think this is great so you can customise the package according to your needs and budget.

Pros

  • Fun, laid-back wedding photography style
  • Also offers videography services edited by him

Cons

  • Final photos and video might take longer to be delivered
  • Might take even longer during peak season

Eric Wang Photography is a relatively new player in the wedding photography scene. Nonetheless, he was able to capture a spot on our list as we believe he’s one of the top choices if you’re looking for a fun and laid-back style.

He started by taking wedding photography gigs on the side and eventually turned it to a full-time job when bookings began to fill up.

He has a vibrant, feel-good style. And we think this is best for couples who love to have fun and want a laid-back atmosphere.

What we love about him is that he genuinely wants to be your friend. He’d make full effort to get to know you no matter how short the time is so he’d be able to capture your big day more meaningfully.

We think this is a great way to be able to capture every couple’s unique personalities and quirks. As he says, no two weddings and no two couples are the same.

When it comes to pricing, Eric’s packages start at $2,900, while his most popular package is priced at $4,200.

We think the price points are fairly reasonable given the package inclusions. They can also be customisable according to your needs.

The packages include services such as a private online gallery, next-day sneak peek photos, engagement sessions, flat-lay wedding albums, and framed prints.

As a new offering, Eric now provides wedding videography services which are shot by professional videographers and edited by him. This is really convenient if you’re also looking for a film crew for your big day.

However, expect the final work to take a bit longer since he’ll be doing all the edits himself. If you’re not in a rush, then it’s worth the wait.

Pros

  • Passionate and adventurous photographer couple
  • Flexible with dates

Cons

  • Deposits are non-refundable
  • Must be willing to pay travel costs if wedding is more than 100 kms from Brisbane or if it’s abroad

We’re so happy to have stumbled upon Two Blushing Pilgrims as we found their work exciting and extraordinary.

What we love about them is that they are two people in love who love to capture love all around the world. Now that’s a mouthful of the L word, but we’re talking about weddings anyway, right?

Maurice and Steph are the couple behind Two Blushing Pilgrims and they’ve been together for almost a decade.

They themselves eloped in Morocco and have traveled together everywhere since. It was always important for them to keep those memories in photographs.

Their wonderful and, at times, wild experiences sparked that passion to pursue capturing other people’s stories of love and adventure no matter where they are in the world.

We think if there’s one word that could encapsulate their style, it would be – wanderlust.

Their specialties are intimate weddings, adventurous elopements, and honeymoons. If you’re planning to have a wedding outside of Australia or even somewhere off the grid, they will definitely be up for it.

It’s also good to take note that they can be flexible when it comes to your wedding date schedules, but if you’ve made a deposit already and decide to cancel, it will not be refundable.

They are also willing to travel up to 100 kilometers for free. But clients must shoulder travel fees that go beyond that.

Pros

  • Affordable photography packages
  • Also offers videography packages
  • Provides multiple angles, great for big weddings

Cons

  • Packages don’t include prints
  • Print packages are more expensive

We then have Willidea Photography and Videography Studio, which is perhaps the biggest wedding photography business on our list.

Their teams have handled over 1,500 weddings in Brisbane, Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast for over 10 years. They’ve also received multiple awards which also include international accolades.

One of the advantages of booking them is that they can give you shots from multiple angles to make sure that you never miss a moment.

They have a fresh, atmospheric style and are focused on keeping the images vibrant and natural.

Another advantage is that they offer several photography packages which start at $1,650.

We think this is the cheapest deal we’ve seen so far. But make sure to review the package inclusions so you know the full extent of its coverage.

But if we were to choose, we’d get the next offering priced at $2,350. This includes 8 – 10 hours of coverage starting from the couple’s getting-ready until late into the reception.

Also included is a USB containing all the photos which are professionally edited, plus over 60 retouched photos.

While the affordable packages might seem attractive, they don’t include an online gallery or print options. The wedding album packages are separate and start at $2,150.

But the upside is, they also offer wedding videography. What’s more is, if you also avail of their video services, you’ll get a 10% discount on your selected photo and video packages.

In addition, a nice option for a really simple and intimate wedding is their elopement package that starts at $600.

Past clients have commended them for their quality photographs, accommodating & bubbly personnel that ensured that the whole process would be as seamless as possible while making the occasion extra special with unlimited photos.
