Yarranlea Primary School is an independent private school in Brisbane where young students come to learn and enjoy, simultaneously. Right off the bat, we love how relaxing and homey the entire atmosphere is. 

A cosy, quiet private school situated amongst trees and tucked away from the city makes for a perfect learning environment, so Yarranlea earns extra points in our books. The entire vicinity is spacious and gorgeous as well. 

What makes Yarranlea stand out from other private schools in Brisbane is how it integrates camps, excursions, and language classes in its curriculum. This gives young students a more rounded learning experience while keeping things interesting and stimulating. 

Although it’s a bit more expensive than our other picks, the quality of education (on top of the beautiful location) here will definitely be worth your hard-earned money. The syllabus and educators are top-notch.

Another thing we like about Yarranlea is the small class size, allowing teachers to focus on the individual needs of each student. This is probably one of the top considerations of any parent looking for a private school in Brisbane. 

Accepting students from pre-prep to year 12, Brisbane Adventist College (BAC) is one of the most prominent Christian private schools in the greater Brisbane area. Here’s why it earned a spot on our list!

First off, although BAC is a coed Christian school, it’s open to all students regardless of religious affiliation. This speaks of their commitment of serving the wider community and promoting quality education. 

BAC is known for having small class sizes too, with the majority of its classes having a maximum of 25 students. As a result, there are more opportunities for collaborative learning between students and teachers, as well as between students.

Parents of former students can attest that BAC is the perfect place for your children to be introduced to Australia’s education system. It’s that type of school that fosters a community between the parents and the educators. 

Just a note here that BAC is located on the border of Wishart and Mansfield, though, so it’s not exactly an accessible school. However, many of the students travel using the school’s fleet of private buses.

Another Christian private school in Brisbane that landed a spot on our list is Citipointe Christian College. As with most sectarian schools in the country, it aims to integrate faith in students to empower them to achieve their goals and serve the wider community. 

It’s one of the largest independent schools in Queenslands, so you probably know fellow parents who send their children here! And we’re sure you’ve heard mostly positive things about Citipointe.

The thing that Citipointe is most popular for is its incredibly dedicated and caring teaching staff – they don’t hesitate to go the extra mile for the welfare of students. Plus, it has great facilities and many activities to support the learning of all students. 

Although it’s far from being an affordable private school, we appreciate that Citipointe’s scholarships are accessible to every student. You can always try to apply for any of its scholarship programmes. 

Lastly, Citipointe makes it a point to build relationships with the parents of students through regular meetings and family days. This helps parents feel that they’re as much a part of their children’s academic growth as anyone else!

Ipswich Grammar School is the oldest grammar school for boys in Queensland, making it the most prominent school in our list. It’s been around for a little over 150 years, so this alone makes it worthy of a spot here. 

Open to students Years 5 to 12, Ipswich Grammar School allows every student to excel in their chosen field, whether it’s science, maths, sports, literature, or even debating. Any student will definitely discover their talents and interests here. 

The teaching staff at this school is nothing short of impressive. From junior school teachers down to arts and sports teachers, everyone has had years of experience handling pubescent and teenage boys. 

Located on Darling Street, Ipswich Grammar School is accessible both by public and private transportation. It’s about a ten-minute walk from the closest railway station. 

In terms of facilities, we have yet to find another private school in Brisbane that compares to what Ipswich Grammar School has. From gymnasiums to libraries, students will have everything they need here. 

As expected, this school is one of the most expensive private schools in the entire Queensland area. If you’re from an average-earning family, better look at other options.
