Pros
- Time-saving processes
- Experienced endodontist and support staff
- Competitive pricing
- Accepts referral patients
Cons
- Difficulty in booking appointments
- Deals with lots of patients
Ward Rutley Endodontist is headed by its namesake, Dr Ward Rutley, whose experience is focused on providing a personal dental approach to patients dealing with root canal problems.
Another thing to know about Dr Rutley is that he’s a valued member of various dental associations all over Australia and New Zealand, so he’s definitely committed to the best interests of all his patients.
Most dental services are expensive, even more so when the root canal is involved. We like that the prices of his treatments and surgeries remain relatively accessible even if he’s so in demand.
Patientcare doesn’t end when you leave his clinic after your treatment. Dr. Rutley will check up on you in the following weeks to see how you’re doing, which we think any patient would appreciate.
On another note, he has a diligent team that works round the clock to answer queries and concerns of patients for him. They get quite a number of messages every day, so delays in response are to be expected.
When it comes to appointments, patients are requested to place their bookings with at least 24 hours notice. For urgent cases, you might need to send in a special request for immediate attention.
That said, there’s no guarantee that you’ll be accommodated right away given the number of patients queueing for Dr Rutley.

Pros
- Has seven endodontists
- Convenient booking process
- Responsive customer service
Cons
- Higher price point
- No services on weekends
Endodontics Only is home to some of the best endodontists in Brisbane. With seven endodontists working under its roof, it’s safe to say that it’s one of the biggest clinics in the area.
What we like most about Endodontics Only is that there’s always a specialist on call. Unlike with other dental clinics, there’s no need to wait for days (or weeks) to get an appointment.
Endodontics Only is equipped with some of the most advanced dental technology. Pair those with the skills and experience of its specialists, then you know that you’re in safe and capable hands as a patient.
Another thing we like is the efficient and convenient booking process, which allows patients to pick their most preferred date and time. It’s only open on weekdays though, so you might need to take a leave from work if need be.
It may not be the cheapest dental clinic out there, but we appreciate that Endodontics Only remains upfront about the cost of treatments. You’ll know right away how much you’re going to be paying, so no billshocks.

- Reliable customer service
Cons
- Some reports on overpriced treatments
- Difficulty in securing appointments
Dr. Edward Houston and Dr. Eugene Chen are both at the helm of Endodontics Chermside, and they’re here to help you with any root canal-related problems.
From surgical endodontics to cracked teeth diagnosis, both endodontists can perform an extensive range of complex treatments. It’s why their clinic is considered a one-stop shop for all endodontics cases.
One thing this tells us is that both minor and major conditions could be addressed in-house, so need to go through various referral specialists.
Equipped with the most cutting-edge dental equipment, Endodontics Chermside will make sure that your root canal-related dilemma will be resolved before you walk out of the door.
However, we noticed that Endodontics Chermside isn’t too transparent when it comes to quotations at initial consultations. We’ve heard some comments about patients getting surprised over their final bills.
We understand that root canal treatments are rarely cheap, but price transparency goes a long way and is always appreciated by patients.

Pros
- Wide range of treatments
- Open for dental emergencies
- Personalised patient care
- Multiple payment options
Cons
- Busy lines
- Deals with lots of patients every day
Those who struggle with root canal problems don’t always fully understand their conditions. Dr Yu-Yao Teoh, who heads Queensland Endodontics, takes the time to explain to each patient their case.
From endodontic surgeries to tooth bleaching, Queensland Endodontics provides a full scope of endodontic treatments, at a price that won’t hurt any patient’s pockets. They offer various payment options too if you’re unable to pay in cash upfront.
You can even use your health fund card if it comes with endodontic treatment coverage. The thing is, there are only a few endodontics in Brisbane that accept health insurance and health cards.
Dr Teoh is always updated with the latest knowledge and trends in endodontics. This tells us that he’s open to improving his services by learning new methods and equipping himself with the latest dental technology.
Another thing worth noting about this clinic is that it’s open for dental emergencies. They will do their best to accommodate you within the day, so you won’t have to bear the pain for days.
The only problem we have with them is that their customer service needs a bit of improvement, or at least open more hotlines. It can be difficult to reach them via phone, which is frustrating sometimes.

Pros
- Armed with latest dental technology
- Easy booking of appointments
Cons
- Slow response to queries
- Higher price point
myEndodontist may be the youngest endodontic clinic in our list, but it’s managed to earn the trust of many patients in and out of Brisbane. Here are the reasons it landed a spot here:
First off, myEndodontist is known for providing excellent patient aftercare. This means that every patient that comes in will continue to be monitored days after their treatment.
Endodontic treatments could get quite painful, so we appreciate that it offers a range of pain-relief options during the surgery. From general anaesthesia to conscious sedation, they’ll help you choose which one best suits your condition.
To make sure that every patient gets the best care possible, myEndodontist has invested in the most advanced dental equipment. This helps ensure trouble-free outcomes and eliminate the risks of post-surgery infections.
Another thing we love is its emphatic endodontists and support staff. They understand that patients generally fear root canal treatments, so they make an effort to wash each patient’s anxieties away.
While all these make myEndodontist a perfect option, it falls short when it comes to customer service. We experienced slow response to our questions, in both text and email.
