1. Allstar Orthodontics

Website: https://www.allstarorthodontics.com.au/
Address: Shop 35, 1000 Ann Street, Fortitude Valley
Contact: 07 3666 0096 | [email protected]
Hours: Week 1: Monday and Thursday: 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, Tuesday: 8:00 AM–6:00 PM, Friday: 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, Wednesday: Closed | Week 2: Monday: 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, Wednesday: 8:00 AM–6:00 PM, Friday: 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, Tuesday and Thursday: Closed
Allstar Orthodontics is led by specialist Dr Mike Anderson. We like how he pairs custom LightForce three-dimensional (3D)-printed braces with remote Dental Monitoring. That cuts the number of in-person visits for suitable patients.
We like that Allstar gives you a choice of braces. You can go with discreet tooth-colored ceramic brackets or stick with traditional metal braces. Either way, we think the team makes sure the fit is comfortable.
They also guide you through every step of your treatment plan.
Fixed braces begin around $50 a week, with interest-free payment plans and low- or $0-deposit options. When we spoke to their staff about costs, they explained how these plans ease the upfront strain.
The main snag for us is the alternating two-week roster at Fortitude Valley. In week one, they close on Wednesdays. In week two, they close on Tuesdays and Thursdays. That limits booking slots if your work hours are rigid.

the entire process was smooth, professional, and well organised
I had an excellent experience getting my braces at All Star Orthodontics. From the very beginning, the entire process was smooth, professional, and well organised. Dr Michael is highly skilled, patient, and takes the time to explain every step clearly, which made the whole journey stress free and reassuring.
The staff are friendly, welcoming, and genuinely care about your comfort and results. I am extremely happy with my progress and outcomes and would confidently recommend All Star Orthodontics to anyone considering orthodontic treatment.

I was never once in pain
I’ve just finished my orthodontic treatment with Dr Mike and I’m honestly so thrilled with the results. I have pretty sensitive teeth, but I was never once in pain — he was always so gentle and reassuring, and took the time to explain everything so I felt comfortable the whole way through. Now that my braces are off, I’m really happy with my smile. I’m so grateful for the care I received and couldn’t recommend him more.

2. Edge Orthodontics

Website: https://www.edgeorthodontics.com.au/
Address: Shop 1, 154 Cavendish Road, Coorparoo
Contact: 07 3847 5003 | [email protected]
Hours: Monday–Tuesday: 9:00 AM–5:30 PM, Wednesday–Thursday: 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, Friday: 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, Saturday–Sunday: Closed
What stands out to us at Edge Orthodontics is that all its care happens in one Coorparoo practice. It’s led by specialist founders Dr. Angie Phelan and Dr. Lachlan Crowther.
We like that they make sure you see the same expert every visit. You won’t bounce around a big network. A small team like this makes that easier than a big network does.
We also like the range of braces. The clinic does metal, ceramic, and hidden braces. We think it’s a plus that they treat young children and adults themselves.
Fixed braces start from $62 a week, with interest-free payment plans to help spread the cost.
The main catch for us is the single-location setup. That means there’s no branch flexibility across greater Brisbane.
If you live further north, driving across town for routine adjustments will add some extra travel time to your schedule.

3. Shine Orthodontics Brisbane

Website: https://shineorthodontics.au/
Address: Level 11, 239 George Street
Contact: 07 3229 1027
Hours: Monday–Friday: 7:45 AM–5:00 PM, Saturday–Sunday: Closed, Public holidays: Closed, After hours: Closed
Shine Orthodontics Brisbane has more than 50 years of clinical history and its own fully equipped laboratory on site. Having technicians work directly with the specialists allows custom appliances to be adjusted without relying on an outside lab.
In our view, this setup can help speed up adjustments and reduce delays between visits.
The practice uses 3M/Solventum metal and tooth-coloured ceramic brackets, giving patients options to suit their preferences.
We also appreciate that Shine has several locations across Brisbane, which can make fitting appointments around work and family commitments easier.
Another plus is the use of all-inclusive quotes and flexible payment plans. These can help families manage costs without worrying as much about unexpected fees.
The main drawback is the weekday-only schedule. The clinics are closed on weekends and public holidays, so appointments may require time off work or school.

the care, professionalism, and attention to detail have been outstanding
Dr. Franco and the Shine team have been absolutely amazing throughout my daughter’s braces journey!
From our very first consultation to her final appointment, the care, professionalism, and attention to detail have been outstanding. Dr. Franco took the time to explain every step of the process clearly and made sure we always felt informed and comfortable. We’re so happy with the results and couldn’t have asked for a better orthodontic team. …

4. NK Orthodontist – Chermside

Website: https://nkorthodontist.com/
Address: 510 Rode Road, Chermside QLD 4032
Contact: 1300 746 465 | [email protected]
Hours: Monday–Thursday: 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, Friday–Sunday: Closed
Note: The practice alternates weeks between its Chermside and Spring Hill clinics, so patients without an appointment should call first to confirm which location is operating.
We like that NK Orthodontist makes pricing clearer from the beginning. The initial consultation includes digital scans and diagnostic X-rays, so we can receive an all-inclusive quote without worrying about unexpected diagnostic charges.
This also makes it easier to compare fixed braces and clear aligners before deciding on treatment.
Specialist orthodontist Dr. Nick Kotsomitis conducts the consultation and personally oversees patient care.
On the practical side, they offer on-site Health Industry Claims and Payments Service (HICAPS) claiming for insurance rebates. They also have dental monitoring for remote tracking.
The main drawback is the $90 initial consultation fee. The practice also alternates between its Chermside and Spring Hill clinics each week. We’d recommend calling ahead to confirm the location before visiting.
Overall, it’s worth considering if transparent pricing and specialist oversight are priorities.

Adults who dislike visible metal brackets get more discreet options at Full Face Orthodontics. These include custom Insignia brackets and Incognito lingual braces that sit behind the teeth.
We also appreciate that patients can receive care from local team members such as Dr. Tommy Chow and Dr. Sylvia Lee. Sydney-based specialist Dr. Derek Mahony consults through the practice too.
If you specifically want to see Dr. Mahony, we recommend checking his Brisbane availability when booking.
On top of that, the Brisbane clinic treats patients of all ages and offers flexible payment plans and Chinese translation services.
Pricing is the sticking point. There isn’t one set braces fee. The total depends on case complexity and treatment length. You’ll need an individual consultation to get your own figure.

more like a concierge service
This never felt like a usual health provider, more like a concierge service. The amount of planning, detail and care that has been put into my daughter’s treatment is mind blowing. We have full trust in the expertise of Dr. Mahony. This is the orthodontic practice that dentists send their children to.

Dr. Mahony took the time to address all my concerns and answered every question I had. We have seen several specialists in the past, but he was the first to clearly identify the main issues and propose a straightforward plan to address them.
Dr. Marina was incredibly gentle and caring, which resulted in my daughters giving her big hugs before we left. …
