What is The Channel Seven Wheel of Brisbane? *

The Channel Seven Wheel of Brisbane is a popular landmark and amusement ride located in the South Bank of Brisbane. It’s 60 metres tall with 42 air-conditioned gondolas circling the wheel with a total capacity of 332 passengers.

Designed by Ronald Bussink, this ride was completed on August 31, 2008 and has attracted many visitors from all over the world since then!

In fact, its opening occurred simultaneously with the annual Riverfire event in Brisbane. And although it looks really stunning now, this ride was damaged by water in 2011, causing huge restoration afterwards.

This ride takes about 15 minutes and an audio providing information about Brisbane and other attractions can be found inside the huge gondolas, too.

The Channel Seven Wheel of Brisbane has over 65,000 LED lights which makes it more attractive to look at night.

While you’re up, we suggest taking a photo in an area with good lighting. If you’re riding during the morning, make sure you face where the sun is.

However, if you’re joining the trip at night, you can maximise the city lights by facing where the light is located or turn on your flash to create a better photo.

In our opinion, the best time to ride The Channel Seven Wheel of Brisbane is during daytime since the sun’s lighting looks much better in photos.
