Tamborine Mountain is the Insta-Spot You’ll Never Stop Posting About

Let me tell you about my latest adventure, which turned out to be a goldmine for my Instagram feed. I’ve seen some pretty spots before, but the cascading waterfalls, landscapes, and views here are enchanting (literally!).

We started with Curtis Falls before strolling around the rainforests, then visited cafes. Everything went so incredibly well that my friend Sarah put aside her vendetta and began taking pictures like a pro influencer.

Anyway, we finally got there, and let me tell you, every corner of Tamborine Mountain is an Insta-spot waiting to happen. Whether you’re a nature lover or just someone looking to up your Instagram game, Tamborine Mountain is the place to be.

Where is Tamborine Mountain?

Nestled in the Gold Coast hinterland, Tamborine Mountain is just a short drive from Brisbane. You’ll find it perched above the coastal plains, offering stunning views and a refreshing escape from the city buzz.

How to Get to Tamborine Mountain

Closest subway stop: If you’re driving, just head south from Brisbane and follow the signs for Tamborine Mountain—it’s a pretty straightforward drive with some lovely scenery along the way.

If you prefer public transport, you can catch a bus from Brisbane to the base of the mountain, and then you might need a local bus or a short taxi ride to reach the top.

Witches Falls Trail takes you through some seriously stunning rainforest, complete with lush greenery and chirping birds. As you hike, you’ll meander through ancient trees and alongside a peaceful creek, eventually reaching the iconic Witches Falls.

But don’t be surprised if you feel like you’re in a bit of a fairytale—this trail has that magical, enchanted forest vibe. Though sometimes the trail can get a little muddy, so wear sturdy shoes and remember to pack some water and snacks.

Early in the morning is the best time to hit the trail if you want to avoid the crowds and enjoy a more serene hike. Also, check the weather before you go; the trail can get slippery after rain.
