We unlocked Banyo Brisbane and discovered it’s more than an airport!

You know how everyone thinks of Banyo and immediately pictures the airport? Well, I used to be one of those people too, but let me just say that Banyo is so much more than just an airport—it’s like this hidden gem that’s just waiting to be discovered.

As we’re waiting for my flight back home, we stop at the local coffee shop, which, by the way, serves a flat white that could compete with the best in Melbourne. And then there’s the parks, the quaint shops, and the community vibe.

I don’t know, but Banyo has its own unique character and charm, which will surprise you just as much as I do. So, next time you’re thinking of passing by, do yourself a favor and stop to explore—you won’t regret it!

Approximately 14 kilometers north of the city center, in Brisbane, lies the suburb of Banyo. It’s bordered by the suburbs of Nudgee to the east and Zillmere to the south, with the major roads of the Gateway Motorway and Sandgate Road nearby.

So, if you’re looking for a spot that’s close to the action but still has its own relaxed vibe, Banyo’s got you covered. It’s also conveniently near Brisbane Airport, making it a great spot for visitors and locals alike!

What is the main street in Banyo?

The main street in Banyo is Starke Street, which is definitely the place to start if you’re exploring Banyo. It’s where you’ll find a lot of the local shops, cafes, and businesses that give the suburb its friendly, community vibe.

How to Get to Banyo

Closest subway stop:  If you’re hopping on public transit, you can catch a train from Brisbane’s Central Station on the North Coast Line and get off at Banyo Station, which will drop you right in the quaint suburb.
