Pros

  • Popular choice for Brisbane segway tours
  • Offers several segway package tour options
  • Friendly tour guides

Cons

  • Some tours weren’t informative enough
  • Doesn’t accept walk-ins

Kangaroo Segway Tours has one of the best segway tours that you can try in Brisbane and it’s the most popular segway tour operator, too! They’ve been offering safe and fun-filled segway adventures around the Sunshine State Capital for almost a decade.

Their popularity when it comes to segway tours is due to their offering of several tour package options at affordable rates starting from $59. So a lot of tourists and even locals consider Kangaroo Segway Tours their go-to segway tour operator.

They have segway tours available daily from 8am to 8pm. You can choose their 2-Hour Scenic Adventure Day Tour for $99 which will take you to a ride by the Brisbane River, the Cultural Precinct, Kangaroo Point Cliffs, Story Bridge, and more.

Other packages they offer include their Scenic Joyride Tour, Scenic Afternoon Fun Tour, Thrill Ride Experience, and Adventure Night Tour.

We love their friendly tour guides who always make safety a priority during tours. That said, all tour packages come with a 30-minute training so all participants will learn how to properly operate the segway.

What’s more, it’s great that the tour guides also take photos and videos for free so participants can focus and enjoy the experience.

However, we spoke to previous participants who mentioned that some tours weren’t very informative. Perhaps this would also depend on the tour guide assigned to your group.

Also, if you’re planning on booking a tour with them, make sure to book beforehand as walk-ins won’t be accepted.

Pros

  • Minimum age for tours is 6 years old
  • Tour has several starting points
  • Offers birthday packages, corporate packages, and event hire

Cons

  • Customer service can be improved
  • Instances of vouchers that aren’t redeemable

What we love about X-Wing Australia is that they have several starting points for tours, so that means you can reach more destinations in and around the city!

Their departure locations are in Kurilpa Park, Howard Smith Wharves, Suttons Beach, and Pelican Park. Tour packages start from $55 for adults and $35 for kids (6 – 12 years old) for a 30-minute Discovery Tour

If you only have time for a quick exploration of the city, you can get the Discovery Tour or 45-minute Explore Tour for $75 ($45 for kids).

But to get the most out of the experience, we recommend their 60-minute Adventure Tour for $99 ($55 for kids) or 75-minute City Lights Night Tour for $115 ($65 for kids).

Another thing that we love about X-Wing Australia is that their minimum age requirement for tours is 6 years old. This is great as little kids can join as well since they have smaller segway units available that are suitable for kids aged 6 to 12 years.

It’s also awesome that they offer Birthday Packages as well as Corporate Team Buildings. Apart from that, they’re available for event hires as well for special occasions if you wish to add more excitement to your event!

Our only issue is their customer service, as based on our experience, they’re not very responsive to inquiries and the booking process can be quite a hassle. Another thing is that some customers complained about tour vouchers that can’t be redeemed.

The tour itself is an awesome experience overall, but we hope they improve their customer service.

Pros

  • Offers segway tours on the white sandy beaches of Moreton Island
  • Lots of other activities to try

Cons

  • Tours are exclusively available to resort guests or daytrippers
  • Segway tours are short

The segway tours by Tangatours at Tangalooma Island Resort is surely a whole new adventure as you’ll be riding along the sandy beaches of beautiful Moreton Island!

They offer a 30-minute segway intro session for $49 and a 45-minute scenic tour for $75. During the tour, you might even spot some dolphins in the bay while the tour guide shares some information about the island and its rich marine life.

Apart from segway tours, it’s great that they offer other exciting activities! This includes parasailing, snorkeling tour, scuba dive tour, sea scooter safari, stand-up paddle boarding, clear bottom kayaks, banana boat rides, and fishing tours.

What’s more, they offer cruises such as the Marine Discovery Tour and Fish Feeding and Wreck Tour. Meanwhile, they also offer night tours including the Illuminated Wrecks Tour, Sunset Cruise, and Dusk Kayak Tour.

When you’re at Tangalooma Island Resort, we highly recommend joining Marine Discovery activities whether it’s a cruise or snorkeling tour. You’ll get to explore the marine life that surrounds the island as well as the famous Tangalooma Wrecks!

One caveat is that if you’re booking activities from Tangatours, take note that your transport to Tangalooma Island Resort should be via Tangalooma launches. Or you should have an overnight booking at the resort.

Pros

  • Offers 2-hour segway tour through Lamington Rainforest Park
  • Tour available for daytrippers

Cons

  • Location is almost a 2-hour drive from Brisbane
  • Tour schedule is subject to availability

If you’ve tried riding a segway in the city or on the beach, you’d definitely enjoy exploring the rainforest in this two-wheeled transporter at O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat!

They offer one of the best segway experiences near Brisbane as you’ll get to cruise through the lush rainforests of Lamington National Park.

Queensland may be known for its pristine beaches, but we highly recommend exploring its stunning hinterlands, too!

This rainforest retreat is just less than a two-hour drive from Brisbane, so if you have the time to travel or even stay for the night, it would surely be worth it! The tour is available for daytrippers so booking an accommodation isn’t required.

Their segway tour is available daily and runs for 2 hours. It’s priced at $105 which is not bad as the duration of the tour is more than enough, especially with the breathtaking scenery.

Just take note that the tour only runs once a day from 11:30am – 1:30pm, so it’s required to make your booking beforehand as slots are limited for each tour.

Also, the tour schedules are subject to availability and times might be subject to change. So it’s best to call their reservations team prior to your trip.

Pros

  • A unique way to explore bushlands that are home to native flora and fauna
  • Segway tours are 2 hours and cover 27 hectares
  • Offers great value for money

Cons

  • Location is 1 hour from Brisbane
  • Booking segway tours is not available through their website

Riding a segway through Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is a fun and unique way to explore the area.

The Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is a heritage-listed zoological garden that’s just an hour away from Brisbane and it’s one of the top tourist attractions in the Gold Coast!

Apart from the surf, Gold Coast’s bushlands are surely worth exploring, and hopping on a segway would let you cover more ground in a shorter amount of time!

In fact, you’ll roam through 27 hectares of bushland while spotting native animals and plants that inhabit the sanctuary.

During the tour, you’ll be guided by a wildlife officer who will first teach you how to operate the segway.

We love that you’ll get to learn more about the different flora and fauna that you’ll be encountering along the way.

Some of the native animals that you would most likely spot are koalas, Tasmanian devils, kangaroos, emus, and wombats.

Their segway tours start from $45 and you can also purchase it as an add-on to your entrance ticket. The general admission to the sanctuary starts from $49.95.

In our opinion, their rates offer great value for money as they give ample time for the segway tour, plus there’s so much more to explore in the sanctuary.

Our only issue is that booking for the segway tour seems to be unavailable through their website. So it’s best to call them to ensure the availability of the segway tour during your visit.
