Pros
- Video call consultations are available
- Convenient location
Cons
- Closed on weekends
- Some instances of delayed appointments
One of the best clinics with quality and in-demand endocrinologists is Brisbane Diabetes Endocrinology.
What we like about them is that they don’t just focus on health conditions related to diabetes and endocrine, the company also addresses pregnancy-related concerns.
From their pool of specialists, Dr. Winnifred Lee has been able to build a solid clientele since she moved into private practice. We like how she pushes herself to know the latest treatments and conditions by joining the Endocrine Society of Australia.
On top of that, she also is a member of the US Endocrine Society, and the Society of Obstetric Medicine of Australia and New Zealand. This tells us why she can handle even the most complex medical issues she encounters in the clinic.
We also love that that clinic is conveniently accessible, both via public and private transportation. However, those who will be bringing their own cars would have to be reminded that parking slots are only available on nearby streets.
On the other hand, those who don’t want to spend more time in transit can just opt for their video consultations. Coordination with the staff is relatively easy as the company ensures to always attend to their hotline.
It’s also worth noting that the clinic is not open on weekends. Hence, telehealth consultations are deemed perfect for those who can’t commit their time during weekdays.
All things considered, we think that patients can give Brisbane Diabetes a go. Just be reminded that like other medical services, appointment delays could really be inevitable, as some patients require more consultation time.

Pros
- Has admitting rights from private hospitals in the city
- Partnerships with psychologists and child care health teams
- Follow-up schedules can be done virtually
Cons
- Not available on weekends
- Treatments are more focused on children with endocrine conditions
Another clinic with the best endocrinologists in town is Queensland Paediatric Endocrinology.
What’s commendable is that this clinic is one of the most child-friendly institutions in the city. With this, the clinic partnered up with a pool of psychologists and health teams who have dealt with children with chronic conditions.
Because of this, Queensland Paediatric Endocrinology has been one of popular choices to handle child patients’ endocrine conditions.
One of the top consultants in paediatric endocrinology in this facility is Dr. Andrew Cotterill – a specialist who has been recognised globally to have significant experience in both diagnosis and treatment.
Clients are more comfortable entrusting their medical treatments with Dr. Cotterill due to the medical expertise he got from being president of the Australian Paediatric Endocrine Group.
This also tells us that he spent more time doing comprehensive research to seek the best clinical care for paediatric endocrinology, which we find impressive.
Though their clinic is not open during weekends, we’re delighted that the team has been able to secure admitting rights from their partner hospitals. This tells us that urgent consultations and other emergency procedures can be accommodated.
Another thing we like about Queensland Paediatric Endocrinology is that they never rush consultations and appointments. We appreciate how their endocrinologists, like Dr, Cotterill, take time in analysing the history and medical conditions of all patients.
Getting to the clinic is quite convenient – both for those who are commuting or bringing their own vehicles. There may be limited parking behind their building, but there is available metered street parking near the location.
Lastly, it’s worth mentioning that the clinic suggests a virtual consultation for follow-up appointments, reducing the amount of time and effort from busy parents.

Pros
- Up-to-date with recent medications
- Wide range of medical services
Cons
- Only open four days in a week
- Online booking is not available
With over 30 years of practise, Health+ Diabetes Clinic has been known to have certified and seasoned practitioners that care for endocrine conditions.
One of the doctors with remarkable experience in the field is Dr. David Carey. We’re even impressed to see that outstanding general practitioners in the city have been referring patients to seek Dr. Carey’s expertise.
We’ve heard that these patients have received efficient medical care from him, which we love. One of our team members even commend how Dr. Carey handled her health records and issues with high attention to detail.
We love how he carefully runs through the diagnosis – including past medical history and possible progress. We also appreciate that he requests for further medical tests before he proceeds with his new approach in treatment.
What we love about Health+ is that aside from having Dr. Carey in their talented roster, they also tapped the expertise of competent exercise physiologists and dietitians, which helps them provide complete healthcare services.
In line with this, we’re also glad that they have trusted affiliations with testing centres outside the clinic. This allows us to feel more confident that they trust these external institutions to perform thorough medical examinations.
However, it’s worth noting that the clinic is only open Tuesdays to Fridays. It is expected that the guys from Health+ Diabetes Clinic attend to more patients on a daily basis.
Booking online is also currently suspended, hence calling their hotline would be the best way to secure an appointment. Nonetheless, it’s great that we didn’t have a hard time reaching their hotlines.
On the other hand, we like how we can consider Health+ as a one-stop shop for other medical conditions. We even love how they give importance on follow-up appointments, telling us that the practitioners really take their time in improving a patient’s health.
Even better, Dr. Carey and all the registered practitioners remain up-to-date with all current medications, ensuring that all patients receive the possible optimal medical solutions.
Lastly, clients agree with us that Health+ has a great location. Those who opt to bring their own vehicles are even entitled to a discounted parking rate.
They even dedicated “care park” slots meant for patients who need to use wheelchairs – impressive!

Pros
- Emergency services are available
- Open 24 hours; visiting hours may vary
- In-patient can be accommodated
Cons
- Admission process can take quite longer
- Rates are a bit premium
Compared to its counterparts, The Wesley Hospital can assist both out-patient and in-patient appointments to access their endocrinology services.
We know how some patients prefer to have themselves checked in a complete facility, giving them more confidence and peace of mind that any urgent medical attention can be accommodated.
On top of that, all medical tests can be done under the same roof, which limits additional trips to other healthcare institutions. Because of this, patients agree with us that The Wesley Hospital is a convenient one-stop shop for endocrinology treatments.
Joining their pool of endocrinologists is Dr. Amanda Scott, who specialises in addressing puberty and growth concerns, as well as Diabetes Type 1.
She’s been one of the most highlighted specialists in The Wesley Hospital due to her outreach programs and clinics outside the facility. This has helped her encourage more families, most especially those who live in the rural areas, to receive medical care.
Since then, Dr. Scott has been able to grow her solid clientele from both city and rural areas. In line with this, those who are living away from the city can just opt for a video chat with her, ensuring that consultations are still prioritised.
On the other hand, we like how the facility is considered to have comprehensive tertiary-level services, which signals quality medical equipment and affiliation with only the best endocrinologists in town.
However, since it’s a bigger medical institution, the admission process can be quite tedious. But, what’s great about The Wesley Hospital is that they offer online registration, which makes a better alternative for registration.
Even better, clients will get to view ballpark costs of admission, professional fees, and possible medications based on the patient’s medical history.
Lastly, the hospital has a wide range of cafes and restaurants inside, which makes a perfect spot for visitors and family members who may be tasked to go with the patients.

Pros
- Wide range of medical services
- Telehealth clinic is available
Cons
- Only open four days a week
- Fees are a bit premium
Greenslopes Endocrinology is known to provide one of the most personalised expert care for endocrinology conditions.
What we love most about them is that they make sure that patients feel more involved in their healthcare. Because of this strategy, we think that more clients are comfortable in consulting their medical needs to the endocrinologists from Greenslopes.
On top of that, clients agree with us how the practitioners from Greenslopes Endocrinology would carefully provide an easy-to-understand explanation of the medical situation using the simplest terminologies.
One of the most requested endocrinologists is Dr. Viral Chikani. With his experience and multiple affiliations across the globe, we’re not surprised to see his growing number of solid client base.
We’re impressed to see that Dr. Viral Chikani is invested in doing comprehensive research and training about physical functions and growth hormone effects on metabolism, which signals in-depth knowledge on these departments.
It’s also quite commendable that Dr. Chikani has established a team effort in addressing his patients’ medical conditions.
With this, he has been known to consult other doctors who can help address endocrinology-related disorders, hence improving their patients’ overall health.
On top of that, we commend them for understanding our preferences and current lifestyle, making sure they provide the most suitable treatment options. We think that with this approach, the practitioners are able to minimise further stress from patients.
Another thing we like about them is how they keep us informed about certain medical conditions. References are made ready in their website, allowing us to get correct information about these conditions.
Even better, these resources are complete with the latest updates, medications, and even tips to battle a disease.
Another thing we like about Dr. Chikani is that he accommodates telehealth consultations, making it more convenient for patients to schedule consultations via Skype.
However, he only attends to patients for four days a week, which limits the number of appointments allowed in a day.
Lastly, we like that his clinic is highly accessible. We’re even impressed that we never encountered issues when looking for parking slots because of Greenslopes’ multi-storey car park provision onsite.
