Pros

  • Wide selection of food items
  • Has 3 locations in Brisbane
  • Uses quality ingredients and award-winning wagyu

Cons

  • Expect long queues if you don’t have a reservation
  • Takeaway packaging can be improved

Maru is one of Brisbane’s best go-to Korean restaurants which has been around since 2011! What sets them apart from other restaurants on our list is that they have three locations in Brisbane that offer a specific specialty.

The Maru Korean Restaurant in the CBD offers the finest Korean cuisine that you can enjoy for lunch or dinner. While their other locations in the CBD and Cannon Hill focus on Charcoal BBQ or Binchōtan.

If you want to sample different Korean dishes, then the Maru Restaurant is the place to go, and if you’re craving grilled meat, we highly recommend their Grill House.

Both the restaurant and grill house offer a wide variety of Korean dishes, so visiting either one of them would surely give you an awesome dining experience.

We also recommend this place for families and groups as they offer set meals and hefty serving sizes. It’s good to know that they use fresh ingredients sourced from their local farms and they also use award-winning wagyu from trusted farms.

If you’re planning to dine in, we highly recommend booking your reservation online. Otherwise, you’ll most likely be in queue for a long time before getting a table.

Something that they need to improve on is their takeout or delivery service, as some customers complained about poor packaging of food which resulted in spillage. But for you to get the most out of the dining experience, it’s definitely best to dine in.

Pros

  • Open seven days a week from lunch to dinner
  • Central location within Queen Street Mall
  • Wide food and beverage menu

Cons

  • Restaurant is usually packed during dinner time
  • Customer service can be improved

What we love about Korilla BBQ is that it’s open seven days a week and available for lunch, afternoon bites, and dinner!

If you’re craving Korean food or a particular dish, then this could be your go-to spot as they have long business hours from 11:30am – 9pm.

We also love how cozy the atmosphere is even though the place can get crowded at certain times. It’s an awesome spot to dine with a group as they offer barbecue sets wherein you can choose from a selection of meats.

If you’re dining solo, you can get a la carte dishes, too, plus some dessert! They have a wide array of choices from meat and seafood, to soup, noodles, bibimbap, and entrees at reasonable price points.

We’re also impressed by their wide selection of beverages, from sodas, juice, and tea, to Korean liquor, cocktails, spirits, wine, and beer.

The place is also very accessible as it’s located within Queen Street Mall. We also recommend booking your reservation beforehand especially if you’re dining with a big group in order to secure a table.

If you wish to avoid peak hours, we advise visiting during lunch time, as you can easily walk-in without having to wait in line.

In our opinion, an area that needs to be improved is their customer service, as some people had unpleasant experiences with the staff.

This typically happens during busy hours, but we hope they can improve on this aspect for customers to have a better dining experience even when the restaurant’s busy.

Pros

  • Offers all-you-can-eat Korean buffet
  • Vegan plate available
  • Great value for money

Cons

  • Parking might be difficult
  • Only open for dinner from Monday to Thursday

If you’re in the mood for an all-you-can-eat Korean buffet experience, then Hanwoori is the place to go!

What we love about going to this Korean buffet is that you won’t need to spend minutes deciding what to order because you can sample a wide array of dishes!

We think dining at Hanwoori is perfect for those who are trying Korean food for the first time. You can get a taste of different dishes without the pressure of choosing just one or two kinds.

Their buffet is priced at $55 per person from Monday to Thursday, and $58 per person from Friday to Sunday.

We think they give great value for money with their wide selection of dishes, as the buffet features a raw meats bar, banchan (side dish) bar, and street food bar.

What’s more, they also offer a vegan plate option for $35 which includes char-grilled veggies and vegan rice.

It’s also great that you can get to choose from a diverse array of beverages such as sodas, Korean-inspired cocktails, sangrias, wines, spirits, and more.

Just take note that parking might be difficult in the area, and only paid parking options are available. But apart from that, it’s a great place to dine with a group as well as with kids.

Pros

  • Great place for Korean fried chicken
  • Customers can order online for pick-up/delivery
  • Pleasant atmosphere and customer service

Cons

  • Steep pricing
  • Place is small for big groups

Tucked away in Fortitude Valley’s Bakery Lane, Jeon’s Kitchen is a cozy little spot in a vibrant laneway where you can take comfort in savory Korean dishes.

This restaurant is best known for their Korean fried chicken served with chips. If you’re looking for good fried chicken in different flavors, then this K-favorite is definitely a must-try!

Some of the fried chicken flavors available are garlic soy, sweet chili, and gochujang.  This dish is best eaten with beer, soju, or any liquor or soda of your choice, and we like that they have a variety of beverages to choose from.

Apart from fried chicken, they also have starters, salads, bibimbap, hotpot, mains and pancakes, and rice bowls. They offer premium wagyu Korean BBQ sets as well, but it’s only available from 5:30pm.

It’s also convenient to order online for pick-up or delivery if you want Korean food to-go.

Also, we recommend the place for solo meals, couples, and small groups as the space isn’t big enough to accommodate large groups.

Moreover, while the taste and quality of food is incredible, we found their pricing to be a bit steeper compared to other restaurants.

But if you’re looking for good quality Korean food with an amazing atmosphere, Jeon’s Kitchen is surely a must-try!

Pros

  • Offers unlimited Korean fried chicken
  • A wide variety of fried chicken flavors to choose from
  • Open seven days a week until late

Cons

  • Menu does not offer authentic Korean cuisine
  • A la carte menu has limited options

What makes Seoul Bistro different from other Korean restaurants on our list is that their food comes with an added twist! Their menu is a fusion of Korean, Japanese, and other flavors which makes the whole dining experience more interesting.

We think their food selection can adapt well with any palate, whether you’re into Korean food or not. What’s more, we love that they offer an unlimited fried chicken buffet with a wide assortment of flavors to choose from!

They have yang nyum, honey soy, honey wasabi, sour cream and chives, buffalo, peri peri, and more. For $26.9 per person, you can get unlimited chicken wings in 10 flavors, fries, garlic bread, and lemon iced tea.

We think this is an awesome deal especially if you’re dining with friends and family. Just take note that this is for dine-in customers only and they have a 90-minute limit from your booking time.

If you’re not up for unlimited wings, you can still get your fried chicken fix a la carte. They also have some burgers, sides, and dips.

Although the choices are a little limited for their a la carte menu, it’s still great that their pricing is quite affordable.

Another thing is, if you’re looking for authentic Korean cuisine, this is not the ideal place to go. But still, it’s a terrific go-to spot for Korean fried chicken that the whole family can enjoy.
