I’ve attended two events at Victoria Park—a wedding and a corporate dinner—and both times, the setting stole the show. The terrace views of Brisbane’s skyline and the lush fairways felt like a garden celebration.
The indoor–outdoor flow made mingling effortless. Glass walls and soft lighting created a polished atmosphere that was neither formal nor stiff.
Food was excellent, from tender beef cheek and salmon mains to Moreton Bay bug sliders and truffle arancini canapés. The bar nailed custom cocktails too. Our table ordered lychee spritzes all night without delay.
Service was seamless, with staff guiding guests and clearing plates quietly. Parking was easy, and the lawns during golden hour gave us some of the best group photos we’ve taken at an event.
However, some guests noted the light noise from the nearby driving range during daytime functions. Also, peak-season pricing and minimum spend requirements can stretch smaller budgets.
Exceptional staff support
“We held an event for over 200 people here and the staff were exceptional along the way! From the lead up and making sure we had everything covered to the actual day. We could not fault their service. I cannot wait to book another event with you all. Thanks for absolutely everything!”

Excellent food and accommodating staff
“Yesterday we held a Celebration of Life for our beloved father. As a long term member of a pipe band, we knew those attending would want to play the bagpipes in tribute. This was wonderfully accommodated. The venue is beautiful and everyone worked tirelessly to provide for our needs. The food was also excellent. Thank you.”

I attended a gala dinner at Customs House. I was instantly captured by the heritage sandstone architecture and the riverside terrace overlooking the Story Bridge.
The space is versatile—the Long Room accommodated a 120-guest banquet, then shifted beautifully into a cocktail lounge with high bars and live jazz. Event staff coordinated floor plan tweaks on the fly and guided the supplier access with ease.
The dinner menu also stood out, with wagyu beef in truffle jus and a Moreton Bay bug entree that guests keep talking about. The sommelier offered wine pairings that felt curated, not generic.
Cocktails on the river terrace at sunset were a highlight. The Story Bridge lit up behind us, turning group photos into postcard moments.
The service was polished yet warm, with staff anticipating needs silently—water refills and dessert timing were all taken care of. Even with over 100 guests, plates disappeared and speeches ran smoothly on cue.
However, parking is sometimes tricky, especially during peak CBD hours. Other clients also noted that minimum spends and evening event rates can be higher compared to newer venues.
Beautiful venue and great food selection
“We had a wonderful wedding at Customs House, with both the ceremony and reception held there. Nicola was very helpful and made the whole planning process easy. The checklist and workflow were clear and smooth, and everything ran on time on the day. The food was great, and our guests really enjoyed it. Overall, it was a beautiful venue and a great experience — thank you to Nicola and the team for making our day so special.”

Spectacular view and flavorful foods
“I was working an event here and we booked a private space. We had the reception outside and meal inside and it was stunning. The view was spectacular, and the food was SO great and flavorful. They were also really good on pacing the courses. It was a 20+ hour trip here, but very worth it and our entire group enjoyed!”

I recently attended a 30-person corporate event at SOKO Rooftop Bar & Restaurant. I was immediately struck by its jungle-inspired decor, which merged with the bold city views on level 14.
The cocktail-style menu featured Peruvian-Japanese bites like ceviche spoons and miso-glazed black cod. Guests also enjoyed charcoal-grilled anticuchos and crispy prawns with aji sauce.
Their bar became a highlight, particularly with the extensive pisco and saké-forward cocktail selection. The spicy passionfruit pisco sour and yuzu spritz received the most compliments.
Service was top-notch. The event staff helped set up a DJ booth by the terrace and provided lighting cues for our presentation slides. They clearly understood the function flow and didn’t miss a beat between food platings and drink orders.
The rooftop terrace offered flexible seating layouts, perfect for mingling and photo moments. Indoor areas have balanced acoustics despite lively night energy.
However, some clients report slower bar service, especially during peak service waves. The food portioning sometimes skews small for the premium pricing, especially for set canapé packages.
Vibrant and cozy atmosphere
“SOKO is the perfect rooftop escape, offering stunning views, a vibrant yet cozy atmosphere, and exceptional food. The cocktails are expertly crafted, and dishes like the sushi and bao buns were unforgettable. With top-tier service and an unbeatable vibe, it’s a must-visit for an elevated dining experience.”

The drinks were the highlights – variety of cocktails to choose from. The food was good. Aesthetically presented and goes well with the drinks. The ambience is the best. Good music, good view and nice entertainment. Overall it was the perfect location to celebrate my birthday and you guys made it special”

Instead of walking into a traditional function hall, stepping into Lina Rooftop felt like entering a summer holiday in the sky. The hanging green and sweeping river views immediately shifted the mood from formal to relaxed luxe.
When we booked Lina Rooftop for a family event, we booked a semi-private poolside area for networking mixers. The plan worked beautifully, with daybeds and cocktail-style tables encouraging easy conversation with our family members.
The menu leaned Mediterranean, and our group favourites were the kingfish crudo and boujee seafood tower. I loved that they offered thoughtful plant-forward dishes too, like charred broccolini with whipped ricotta and pistachio.
Their events team handled everything, from custom cocktails branded for our theme to arranging cabanas for a breakout space. Elders even snapped photos in the pastel-pink stairwell, which turned into an unofficial photo booth spot.
If there’s a downside, bar queues become slower, especially during peak rooftop hours. Also, wet-weather plans feel slightly tighter indoors due to the venue’s open-air design.
Excellent selection of food and drinks
“A perfect place for a special occasion — or to make any occasion special. The sunset views and city lights are absolutely stunning. The menu offers an excellent selection of food and drinks. We were lucky to be served by Surya, a wonderful young man with a beautiful Italian accent, who made the experience even more memorable with his great service, thoughtful suggestions, and attention to detail. A visit here is a truly memorable experience and an absolute must to enjoy the Brisbane skyline.”

Breathtaking views and a relaxed venue
“The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was just perfect, relaxed yet lively, with live music that really suited the moment. The views were breathtaking, making it a beautiful place to soak in the surroundings and enjoy with friends.”

Cloudland’s energy feels theatrical from the moment you walk in. It isn’t just a venue, but it feels like stepping into a fantasy garden (yes, it’s lit in gold and emerald).
The entrance alone is enough to make guests pause, with crystal-lit archways and a dramatic glass staircase.
The staff are efficient. They move effortlessly between plated entrées and roaming champagne service.
What stands out the most is the venue flexibility. Some events can transition seamlessly from a seated awards ceremony to a dance-floor party without compromising the charm or décor.
Cloudland’s AV setup is impressive too. Lighting shifts and screen visuals are timed perfectly.
Their design diversity makes events feel custom—lush garden ballroom downstairs and glittering bars in between. There’s always a space for breakout chat or a quieter drink.
However, the venue can feel busy when multiple events run simultaneously. Some clients note a strict dress code and occasionally firm security checks at entry.
Wonderful customer service
“We attended a charity ball at this lovely venue. The bar manager was so amazing he brought my group over complimentary bottles of champagne. This absolutely made our night. Wonderful customer service – owners should look after this manager in today’s climate good staff like him are hard to find ! Employers… look after your good staff, or someone else will.”

Spacious and luxurious area
“Beautiful venue!! Attended multiple functions in their Rose room and I’ve always had an enjoyable experience. Spacious area for dancing, dining, and drinking. The bathrooms are just as spacious and luxurious, food quality and catering are top tier and the staff are all super lovely.”
