When we spoke to their staff about a deadstock linen collection, they explained how quickly these limited rolls can sell out.

They also stock independent paper patterns, books, and sewing notions, so you can pick up everything you need for a project in one trip.

This store is definitely a great option for local fashion designers and home crafters who want sustainable fabrics without compromising on quality.

However, stock changes frequently, so call ahead if you’re looking for a specific fabric.

The perfect fabric was found, and so was the dressmaker

Visiting Selective Fine Fabrics a few weeks ago looking for fabric and a dressmaker. I couldn’t have been happier. Anna was so attentive and very knowledgeable with over 30 years experience. Highly recommend The Fabric Editors

A wonderful friendly and efficient experience dealing with John at The Fabric Editors. After my initial on-line enquiry, John phoned me to discuss the wallpaper I was interested in. In fact, a friend of mine ordered cotton-silk blends from their web store and received the cuts within two days. 

Their Sumner location serves as a dedicated showroom for testing drapes and checking colours in person. 

The inconvenience is their physical operating schedule, as the doors stay closed Sunday through Tuesday. That four-day showroom window means mid-week visits take planning.

Fabric Collection is a fabulous local fabric store in Sumner. I’m always impressed by the beautiful range of quality fabrics, stunning bridal and event fabrics as well as gorgeous day-wear fabrics that are a little less intimidating for the home sewer (like me!).
