Pros

  • Overlooking the city and the famous Story Bridge
  • Operable walls

Cons

  • External catering is not permitted
  • $3.50 per person cakeage fee if a cake is brought and served to guests

Rivershed is part of the event spaces you can find in Howard Smith Warves. Howard Smith Warves is considered as an entertainment hub, so it’s an ideal location for all types of events, whether intimate events or public events.

What makes Rivershed special to us is that the space is overlooking the city and the Story Bridge. The ambience is perfect for any type of gatherings like gala night and dinners.

You’ll like the fact that you don’t need to rent the whole place too. It has operable walls that divide the place into rooms, so if it’s too small or it’s too big to accommodate your attendees or guests, Rivershed can adjust for you.

It’s important to note though that while the event space is private, it’s located in a busy area. So don’t expect a relaxing vibe outside of the place.

Rivershed has reasonable rates and inclusions like linen, tables and chairs, utensils, and indoor furniture. However, outside catering is not allowed, so even if you want another catering, you don’t really have a choice but to sign up for Rivershed’s.

If it’s an intimate party, you can bring cake if you want. However, you need to pay a fee per guest. It’s a bit pricey, so you may just want to hold back on the cake if it isn’t a major part of the event.

Pros

  • Perfect view of the skyline at night
  • Neutral space that can house any type of event

Cons

  • Toilets on a separate floor
  • Glare of the sun can be distracting

Room Three Sixty is a neutral event space, which means any type of event can be held here. Flexibility is one of its strongest suits, so the venue can cater to any theme or styling you prefer.

It’s perfect for weddings, corporate product launches, banquet dinners, or cocktail events. It can accommodate large events too, so you can hold your company events here.

Room Three Sixty also has the most amazing view of the Brisbane skyline and the river. It’s perfect for a night event, whether you want to relax and just enjoy the view or party with that kind of view.

The view is pretty much as beautiful during the day as it is during the night; however, some previous guests complain that the direct glare of the sun can be pretty distracting. There are blinds to cover the place, but that depletes the purpose of seeing the view.

The price of the venue is a little high though compared to other places. But if you’re willing to splurge a little more for good service and a good venue, then it’s a good idea to splurge on Room Three Sixty.

Toilets on a separate floor might not be convenient for all attendees or guests and might turn you off. It would be better if one is available on the floor itself so the guests don’t have to ride the lift to freshen up.

Pros

  • A large hall for a really big gathering
  • Rooftop terrace overlooking Fortitude Valley with a dedicated bar

Cons

  • Difficult to find the place
  • Needs communication training for staff

If you’re looking for an event space that can house a really large gathering, then The Warehouse is a good place for you. It has a large hall that can accommodate up to a thousand guests for cocktails so you won’t need to squeeze people in a smaller venue.

The Hall is quite versatile, so you can also decorate it the way you want to with a few limitations. You’ll also love the state-of-the-art sounds and lights equipment, which makes the experience better.

If you prefer a smaller gathering, it has the loft & rooftop terrace. It has a good view of Fortitude Valley so your guests or attendees can enjoy the event while surrounded with such a picturesque backdrop.

The prices of The Warehouse’s event spaces are reasonable, which is a good thing. It also offers catering with an extensive menu so you don’t have to worry about food and beverages.

What we think you might find a little iffy about the event space is that it’s difficult to find. The Warehouse might want to improve its signages so guests will not have a hard time finding it.

Some of the guests also find the staff a little too stiff when dealing with guests. The Warehouse might want to give the staff a little more communication training just to improve customer service.

Pros

  • Easy access to amenities (wheelchair accessibility)
  • Can accommodate any type of event styling you need

Cons

  • Lack of parking space
  • BYO alcoholic beverages

Probably the most perfect way to describe The Joinery event space is that it’s very customizable. If you’re the type of client who has a lot of ideas when it comes to styling and design, this even space is perfect for you.

The Joinery permits any type of styling and theme, as long as it won’t cost damage or other problems in the venue. So you’ll have liberty to design in the way you want to, and can even ask help from the staff of the venue.

The food and beverage from Chez Nous Corporate, the catering partner, is amazing, which is one problem you have to worry about. However, if you want to serve alcohol to your guests, you need to bring your own.

You’ll also appreciate that The Joinery doesn’t make it hard for guests to access amenities like restrooms. It’s also wheelchair-friendly so there won’t be problems for guests who are using a wheelchair to move around.

One thing that your guests might encounter though is the lack of parking space. Bringing a car might be a little inconvenient because you have to park elsewhere once the allotted parking is full.

It’s probably also worth noting that The Joinery accommodates only one event at a time. However, you can arrange something with the events space if you’ll only occupy a small part.

Pros

  • Pets are allowed at some areas
  • Loud music is allowed until 10 PM

Cons

  • External noise from the outside sometimes sips inside the venue
  • No parking on the premises

MIRRA Events is most known as a wedding event space, but it caters to all types of functions. It used to be a warehouse until it’s turned into an event space, making it versatile and easy for you to style however you want to.

The venue has quite a rustic feel to it, which makes it perfect for weddings. But the amenities also make it perfect for every type of event you can think of.

What you might appreciate also is that pets are allowed, just not everywhere. You might need to check with the event space the protocols with regards to bringing your furry friends.

MIRRA Events is also perfect for events that need loud music like small concerts or parties. Since the space is not located in a residential area, loud music can be played until 10 PM.

One problem you might encounter though is that sometimes, external noise like traffic or the train sips in inside the venue. While inevitable, clients will appreciate it if there’s something that can be done to at least minimize it.

Another thing that might cause a problem for you is that there’s no parking space inside the premises. While there is plenty of street parking, there is competition around the area, and you might need to park your car a block away.

Pros

  • Unique and bespoke venue
  • Various function spaces available
  • Nice and lovely vibe

Cons

  • Complaints about rude staff

Loft West End is the area’s most unique and bespoke function venue.

They can cater to celebrations of all sizes as they have 3 function spaces to choose from, which includes a cocktail bar and impressive gallery.

For large celebrations, whole venue booking is also possible.

They’re also open to more casual functions and have spaces for these as well. They have an archive beer boutique, which includes a The Deck, the NDC deck, and The Spider Lounge.

We like how versatile their space is and how virtually any type of event and event style can be held here.

We find the place to have a nice and lovely vibe. It’s truly a place where one can have fun with people who are special to them.

Food and drinks here is pretty good and enjoyable. They have great choices overall.

We’ve come across complaints about their manager being rude and insensitive though, so we hope they’ve resolved that.
