Brisbane Beauty Canvas was born out of two sisters’ passion for beauty and creativity. What started as a hobby when they were younger turned into a profession they both love and enjoy. 

Joanne and Sheila are both qualified and professionally trained makeup artists who earned their certifications from the Academy of Makeup in Brisbane. 

They specialize in bridal and wedding makeup, formal events and special occasions, as well as makeup for photo and film shoots, and stage performances. 

What we love about them is that they also do makeovers, but not for you to look like a totally different person, but to make your natural beauty stand out even more to match your style and personality.  

Apart from that, they also offer makeup lessons if you wish to learn how to apply makeup on yourself, which is such a great skill to have. 

In addition, it’s good to know that they only use high quality makeup products that suit all skin types, colors and tones. They also guarantee high definition makeup that will look great in person, as well as in photographs and videos. 

We didn’t really find any faults from Joanne and Sheila. But just take note that you need to make a deposit before your booking can be confirmed.

She’s a certified MAC makeup artist and has over 10 years of professional experience in the beauty industry. She specializes in bridal, formal, runway, and editorial makeup.

Dyan Acuesta gets a sure spot on our list with over 10 years of professional makeup experience. She also trained with international brands, namely Smashbox, Stila, Hourglass, and Laura Mercier, among others. 

What’s interesting about her is, her passion for makeup took off during her stint in aviation wherein she headed the Style & Image department of a prominent airline company.

She’s now Brisbane-based and a published makeup artist who carries a Diploma in Screen and Media.​

We love that she has a pretty extensive portfolio specializing in weddings, photography and film shoots, and special events. She also recently worked at the Melbourne Fashion Week.

Her wedding makeup rates start at $600 but we’d recommend you to just go for a complete hair and makeup package which is priced at $1110 for 3 people, $1800 for 5 people, and $2450 for 7 people. 

We think given her vast portfolio, her rates are pretty reasonable. And if you’re planning on booking her, do it quickly because slots are filling up fast! 

Perfectly Beautiful is founded by Sarah Gibson, who earned her diploma at the Academy of Makeup and has been working with beautiful brides for over 12 years.  

Sarah and her team specialize in hair and makeup for weddings and formals. It’s great that they’re a mobile service that covers several areas in and around Brisbane including Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, and Southeast Queensland.

Their makeup services start at $110 per person both for weddings and formals. This includes premium lashes and airbrush or conventional makeup techniques. 

It’s great that they also offer hair styling services which start from $110. This includes all up or down styles, application of your provided accessories, and travel fees if within Brisbane and Gold Coast. 

Prices may also change depending on your location. But we think their rates are pretty affordable and priced lower compared to others. 

It’s also great that they can accommodate events of all sizes from small to large groups. So you won’t have to worry about managing prep time as the team is very much experienced in handling groups of all sizes. 

When it comes to booking them, make sure that you’re able to pay the deposit fee as well because you won’t be able to confirm your booking otherwise.

Some of the highlights of her work include feature films such as Kong – Skull Island, Elvis, and Pirates of the Caribbean – Dead Men Tell No Tales. She’s also worked in music videos, magazines, and television. 

With her extensive background, we think her attention to detail and quality of work are unmatched. 

Her rates are pretty affordable as well priced at $130 for weddings and $120 for formal events. She also provides hairstyling which starts at $80 depending on hair length.  

But you should note that she prefers working with another hair stylist depending on your requirements and the number of people to be serviced. 

She can recommend a stylist she trusts and is also open to working with another stylist that you prefer.
