Funky, artsy, and hip, those three words best describe Lost Souls bar in Brisbane. If your crowd is young, energetic, and creative, this is a spot where you might belong. And of course, there’s karaoke here as well.
The karaoke in Lost Souls comes in private rooms in case you’re a bit conscious about your voice. Outside of the karaoke rooms, you can even play some social games or table games to break the ice.
Outside of your singing voice, one of the most memorable things your companions will remember in this bar is the hypnotic artwork on the walls. Paired with the groovy neon lighting, it’s a hipster’s paradise.
Even the place’s atmosphere is a great conversation starter.
Pro Tip There are only five karaoke rooms at the time of writing and each one can only fit 16 people. You might as well maximize the capacity. The more the merrier, after all. |

Other karaoke rooms and areas are just as jaw-dropping. There’s something for everyone in Cloud 8 Karaoke, especially for kids!
When I went here with my friends, it immediately felt like a place where we would unleash our true selves without apprehension or coyness.
All in all, it’s easy to have fun in this karaoke bar. A lot of effort went into the room designs and the lighting to make you feel like you’re in another world.

Going back to something simpler and less over-stimulating, we have Music City here offering more minimalist karaoke rooms. It’s better suited for corporate night-outs and parties where you have to take everyone’s tastes into account.
And while they might lack in “Instagrammable” attractions, what they have works well, especially for their prices. They even let you bring your own alcohol without any corkage fee in case you want to save up even more.
Despite the more affordable prices, you can bet that they won’t skimp on some of the basic stuff, such as hygiene or comfort. The mics all have covers, which is great if you’re a bit of a germaphobe.
Meanwhile, the song selections are superb with great variety, and they even come in different languages.

Fat Louie’s is a relatively small and traditional karaoke bar that also lets you use a pool or billiard table in case your tonsils start hurting.
It might not be your cup of tea if you’re looking for something more relaxed as the establishment’s size means you can’t escape the public eye or noise in the bar or lounge area. Great for extroverts.
Shy people needn’t worry as there are also private karaoke rooms and some of them even offer Tokyo-style designs. Outside those rooms, you can also rest your throat from singing by jamming in with the live band.
Fat Louie’s might just be your ideal karaoke spot if you value nostalgic bars since there’s no shower of otherworldly neon lights here or weird artwork on the walls.
Everyone’s out here to have fun, and it’s a great hub for socialization with all the other activities aside from karaoke.

As for the karaoke, they have rooms as well, and you might want to save that for last as it’s the most relaxing activity here.
Strike Bowling has a more modern touch with plenty of stylish neon lighting that fits well with a younger crowd. As expected, it’s pricier compared to other cheaper karaoke bars, so you might want to save it for more special occasions.

Fancy a game of golf while waging a singing contest? Holey Moley has you covered. It’s similar to Strike Bowling but with golf as their alternate attraction of bowling. They also have laser tag, in case you have kids you need to keep entertained.
As for the karaoke spot, they also have private rooms so you can sing your lungs out in case golf doesn’t work out for you.
Do keep in mind that karaoke isn’t their main business so it won’t be as specialized or as affordable as the more dedicated karaoke spots in Brisbane.
Holey Moley is also pricey, but given its range of activities, it’s somewhat justified. You’ll want to bring your family here; they have games for people of all ages and child-friendly discounts.
Pro Tip Certain games and activities are discounted on specific days. Check their schedule on the websites to plan your visits accordingly. |
Ben’s Vietnamese & Chinese Restaurant

Address: 14 Annerley Rd, Woolloongabba QLD 4102, Australia
Contact: https://www.bensrest.com.au/reservation/
Hours: Monday – Sunday, 11am – 10pm
Ben’s Vietnamese & Chinese is a diner, first and foremost. However, that didn’t stop them from including a karaoke service so you can sing while waiting for the food to arrive.
Other times, the food might be just too good, that you’re compelled to sing your praises. Regardless, your grandparents or parents will love this place as it has a slower yet still festive ambiance.
They also cater to weddings, office parties, and birthdays with space for up to 230 people– quite a large crowd. I would advise you to look someplace else if you exclusively karaoke as they do not allow that. You have to order something and eat.
Pro Tip Karaoke services only run from Thursday to Saturday at 8 pm to 10:30 pm. |

We’re back to pubs for a more drink-friendly setting. The Wickham is one of the most notable pubs in Brisbane for its staunch support of the LGBTQIA+ community. So this would be a good place to feel safe and accepted no matter who you are.
They have live music and they also close pretty late, which is convenient for night-outs. Meanwhile, the karaoke service ties well into The Wickham’s LGBTQIA+ themes with singalongs and even drag shows joining the occasion.
Regardless, everyone’s invited into this colorful and stylish establishment. They even have three separate function areas that can house hundreds of people.
Pro Tip It’s difficult to find parking during busy hours, so you might want to go there via taxi or Uber. |

Last but not least, we have Game Republic. This karaoke bar has many things and even lets you play all kinds of tabletop games like Mahjong. It’s also regarded as a luxury party bar due to its motif.
If you’re feeling a little bold, you can even go up on the stage and sing karaoke instead of hiding in a private room.
And yes, the “game” in Game Republic doesn’t just refer to old analog games, but also video games. They have a large partition for gaming PCs and consoles that ought to keep gamers busy while their more social peers sing around.
It’s a win-win situation for everyone at Game Republic.
