The 5 Best Dinner Restaurants in Brisbane

Menu Selection: We chose restaurants that offer a particular cuisine for those looking for specific food offerings. The restaurants should also have special diet options to accommodate those with food restrictions.

Ambience: Along with exquisite food, the restaurant should also have a pleasant ambience, while cleanliness and hygiene should also come standard.

Customer Service: Diners should have a pleasant and stress-free experience from bookings and reservations to the actual dining experience.

Location: The restaurant should be in a safe and convenient location with ample parking space and other accessible transportation options.

Hours: We chose restaurants that are open for early dinner reservations until later in the evening.

Pricing: While it’s totally fine to splurge on delicious food, we checked if pricing is reasonable for the overall dining experience.

Pros

  • Accommodates almost all dietary requirements
  • Offers budget-friendly set menus
  • Great ambience

Cons

  • Additional 7% service charge for groups of 8 or more
  • 10% surcharge on Sundays and holidays

If you’re craving Greek food, there’s no better place to go than Greca! The whole dining experience is also elevated by its location right by the Brisbane River – an ideal dinner destination in the River City!

What’s great about Greca is that they accommodate almost every dietary requirement. So you won’t have to worry about limitations on their food selection.

They offer Greek and Mediterranean cuisine with vegetarian-friendly food offerings, as well as vegan and gluten-free options.

You can start off with a saganki as an appetizer, priced at $22, which a lot of customers rave about. While their oven-baked lamb shoulder is also a highly recommended main dish with options of a small or large serving at $46 and $92.

We like that they also offer set menus starting at $65 per person. This is an excellent option if you want to try their best-selling dishes complete with dessert!

It’s also great that they’re open 7 days a week, so if you’re in the city, booking reservations would be more flexible. The restaurant is also perfect for groups as their serving size is pretty big.

The only downside that we saw is that if you’re dining with a group of 8 or more, there’s a 7% service charge from Mondays to Saturdays, while it’s 10% on Sundays.

Also, there’s a 10% surcharge when you dine on Sundays and holidays. We recommend visiting them from Monday to Wednesday as the restaurant is less busy.

Pros

  • Award-winning head chef
  • Offers a variety of promos weekly
  • Offers gift vouchers for purchase

Cons

  • Follows a 2-hour dining schedule
  • Closed Mondays and Sundays

Alchemy Restaurant & Bar is a perfect choice especially for tourists who wish to enjoy a modern Australian meal with a spectacular view by the Brisbane River.

It’s worth noting that their head chef, Brad Jolly, is an award-winning chef. He has an impressive background working alongside prestigious names in the culinary industry such as Marco Pierre White and Jamie Oliver.

They offer a range of Australian and European dishes on the menu with inclusive food choices as well.

They also offer set menus starting at $79 for a 2-course meal and $99 for a 3-course meal. If you’re a group of 10 or more, the set menu is a required option.

If you’re planning on booking a reservation, we also recommend checking their promos for the week which are posted on their social media pages and website. You might just chance upon a good deal for food and wine.

We like that they offer gift vouchers as well from $50 – $250 which can serve as perfect gifts for friends or a nice giveaway for events.

Just one gripe that we have is that there’s a 2-hour dining time limit for every reservation. So that means you can’t stay for an extended time which is not ideal for big group gatherings.

Pros

  • Premium Cantonese and Sichuan cuisine
  • Offers vegan and gluten-free banquets
  • Offers fresh, locally sourced seafood

Cons

  • Charges $60 cancellation fee
  • Customer service can be improved

If you’re looking for Chinese or Asian food, Donna Chang is one of the best dinner restaurants in Brisbane serving authentic Cantonese cuisine with some Sichuan flavors.

The restaurant exudes an elegant ambience set inside a classic heritage building, so stepping inside would already be a memorable experience in itself.

You’ll get a taste of premium Asian cuisine made with unique ingredients. However, the menu items might change from time to time depending on the availability of ingredients.

They offer fresh seafood such as southern rock lobster, green lip abalone, and giant QLD grouper. These food items are obviously one of their seasonal selections which are freshly caught and prepared daily.

We love that they have chefs that specialize solely on dimsum and yum cha so they can offer the most creative and unique flavor fusions using only quality ingredients.

We also appreciate how the items on their menu have labels such as dairy-free, gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan, which are clearly indicated.

And it’s great that they have vegan and gluten-free set menus for those who have specific diet restrictions.

Something that they can improve on is their customer service as some customers had unpleasant experiences with the staff. Also, they charge a $60 cancellation fee, so make sure that you inform them of rebookings at least 24 hours prior.

4. Montrachet

Pros

  • Award-winning French restaurant
  • Extensive wine selection
  • Customers can request a Chef’s Menu with vegetarian dishes

Cons

  • Currently has no vegan or gluten-free options
  • Limited business hours

Montrachet is probably one of the best dinner restaurants for dates in Brisbane! An award-winning restaurant offering French cuisine and an extensive selection of wines – what more could you ask for?

They offer a table d’hote menu (a la carte) wherein you can choose from a 2-course meal for $85 or a 3-course meal for $100. While their Chef’s Menu features a 5-course meal of its classic dishes priced at $145.

We think the Chef’s Menu would be an ideal choice for a dinner date if you’re both up for a 5-course meal paired with a glass (or two) of some of the finest wines in the world.

It’s also great that you can inform them about your specific dietary requirements at least 72 hours before your reservation. If you’re ordering the Chef’s Menu, note that it can be customized into a vegetarian course meal, which is a great option to have.

However, they currently don’t accommodate any vegan or gluten-free options in particular. So that’s quite a bummer if you have those diet restrictions.

Also, take note that their opening hours are rather limited for dinner time which is at 5:30pm – 10pm only. Plus, they’re closed Sundays and Mondays.

Pros

  • Multi-awarded steakhouse
  • Offers vegetarian, halal, and gluten-free options
  • Has a cocktail bar and a wide selection of wines

Cons

  • Needs improvement on customer service
  • Some instances of customers being rushed to order

Moo Moo The Wine Bar & Grill is one of the best dinner restaurants to check out in Brisbane as it has arguably one of the best steaks in the River City!

If you’re looking for a dinner meal with steak and wine, then this is the perfect place! It’s a multi-awarded restaurant with a specialty beef menu that’s definitely worth the try.

Their beef menu features some of the most premium cuts. This includes Wagyu and Angus breeds, grain fed and pasture, and their signature in-house 50-day dry aged beef, which is notably one of the richest types of beef in Australia.

Apart from being known for serving some of the best steaks, they also have a range of other food options to cater to various food requirements.

It’s great that they have vegetarian options as well as halal and gluten-free items. They can also accommodate other special requests when it comes to dietary requirements, customers just need to inform them beforehand.

Moo Moo would also be an awesome place for a night out with friends as they also have a cocktail bar plus a very generous selection of wines.

However, an area they can improve on is their customer service. We’ve heard from some diners that they experienced being rushed to get their orders and even pressured into ordering the more expensive items on the menu.
