We carefully examined the flavor profile, variety of cuisines, and whether the meals are cooked fresh or frozen. Nourish’d has employed strategies to reduce food waste and has transitioned from using styrofoam packing to fully recyclable cardboard for their delivery boxes, and the meal containers are also 100% recyclable.

In terms of their menu, Noursih’d delights us with a 100% gluten-free menu designed by dietitians. Sticking to their sustainability goals, every food that goes outside their kitchen doesn’t contain fillers or preservatives.

The menu features a rotation of more than 60 choices, but the Chicken Pesto Penne has always been a personal favorite. It has fresh, herby basil, nutty Parmesan cheese, and savory garlic, all tied together by a rich olive oil.

For a high-protein dish, we recommend their home-cooked mac’n cheese with grilled chicken and greens. It’s definitely a comfort food without compromise.

In their “Soul Food” section, I always have to order the Sticky Date Pudding and the Salted Caramel Slice. The best part is that these are dairy-free, 100% gluten-free, low-calorie, and vegetarian-friendly.

The pricing, however, is higher compared to most meal packages in Brisbane. Some reviews also claim that portion sizes have been inconsistent. To be fair, we have not encountered this issue yet.

Pros

  • Sustainable packaging
  • 100% Gluten-Free
  • Preservative-Free
  • Refined Sugar-Free
  • Wide Variety and Rotating Options

Cons

  • Higher price point
  • Inconsistent portion sizes

Excellent Service

“ I was so excited to find a meal delivery service that delivered to my area and provided fresh, tasty meals. I have been using the meals while recovering from injury and have appreciated the convenience, variety, and taste. I haven’t been disappointed with any of the meals.”

I have ordered multiple times from Wholesomeness Meal. Every food item delivered to my doorstep has been of top quality, from their delicious vegetarian and vegan meals to their FODMAP-friendly options.

The meals that Wholesomeness offers are not only healthy but bursting with flavor. They have three main options (Wholesome Meals, Vegan & Vegetarian, and Low FODMAP) packaged using the quick-freeze method.

The meat selection is quite extensive, and for someone who’s been ordering for quite some time, I still have to try many of their dishes. The standouts, however, from the ones I tried include the pesto gnocchi with chicken pieces.

Regarding their delivery service, I typically order 10-20 meals per batch, but family-sized options are also available. Their personal customer have been really responsive and they have never failed to satisfy with every delivery.

But there are complaints of inconsistent meal quality and changes in texture when reheating meals, including pasta.

Pros

  • Diverse dietary options
  • Quick-freeze method
  • High food safety standards
  • Environmentally conscious packaging

Cons

  • Inconsistent meal quality
  • Texture changes when reheating

Perfect for a low FODMAP diet

“I’ve been on a special low FODMAP diet because I suffer from bad IBS. The meals have been absolutely amazing. I particularly like the eggplant and zucchini frittata with sweet potato wedges and peas!!…. Super tasty!!”

What we liked most about Gourmet Meals is the quality of food prepared by their internationally trained chefs.

Based on our initial orders, the frozen meals were fantastic and flavorful. They offer dishes including pork, beef, chicken, and fish, so you’ll have plenty of options.

The pasta dishes are equally good, like the Creamy Pesto Pasta and the Spaghetti Veganaise. However, we don’t recommend storing these for too long, since the pasta can get mushy when reheated.

Soup dishes are also a staple when ordering at Gourmet Meals. The Ham and Pea Soup and the rich, earthy Pumpkin Soup are such comforting dishes and are definitely recommended.

We were pleased with the extensive offerings, as desserts and specials are also available on the menu. For the desserts, we recommend the Strawberry Cheesecake, which was rich, creamy, sweet, and slightly tangy.

In terms of flexibility, they don’t have long-term contracts, so you have the freedom to place orders based on your needs. We also find the delivery fee to be cheaper compared to other companies.

However, there are regional availability constraints, and some areas may not be included in the delivery routes.

Pros

  • Chef-Prepared
  • Cheaper delivery fee
  • Nutritious Frozen Meals
  • Gluten-Free
  • Dietary-Friendly Options
  • Flexible Ordering

Cons

  • Texture change when reheating
  • Regional Availability Constraints

Excellent and well-balanced food

“My meals are always excellent! Thank you. They arrive as expected, packed nicely, easy to unpack, and put into my freezer. Thank you.  Just a thought. Nutritionists say that we should have a mixture of five vegetables each day. I find that some meals have barely a spoonful of carrots or beans, too much white rice instead. Would love a bigger serving of veggies, please.”

Gretta Alicia Holzworth, Google Review

What made Chefgood stand out for us is their “Slim & Trim” meal plan, which is perfect for those who are conscious of their calorie intake. All of the snacks are under 400 calories and dietitian-approved.

Their calorie plan ranges from 1200 to 1800 calories per day, and if you can’t decide on what meal to pick, they offer expert recommendations, which have been really helpful for us.

Even with controlled calories, the food still tastes amazing. We indulged in a guilt-free chocolate and cherry chia pudding for breakfast, enjoyed a chicken caesar wrap for lunch, and a savory chicken parmigiana for dinner.

Aside from their calorie-controlled meal plan, we have plenty of options from their regular meals, which range from breakfast to full dinner meals. Think chili con carne, beef massaman, lemon & herb chicken, and a lot more meat and pasta dishes.

Relatively, the price for Chefgood meals is higher, and there have been reports of inconsistent portion sizes.

Pros

  • Preservative-free meals
  • Extensive variety
  • Regular menu rotation
  • Caters to a range of dietary preferences
  • Meals come with clear nutritional information

Cons

  • Relatively expensive
  • Inconsistent portion sizes

Convenient and Delicious Food

“ I have had a great experience with Chefgood. Their Personal Best meal plan is super convenient, and the food is delicious – the food arrived as scheduled, the convenience is phenomenal during a busy work week, and they have a huge range of meals, which includes snacks, smoothies, veggie, and vegan options. The chocolate date brownie is a personal fave.”

We were intrigued by My Muscle Chef’s premium support in helping customers achieve their weight and body goals. The fact that the meals are dietitian-designed is also a plus, ensuring that customers get a balanced meal every day.

Moreover, we also like that they offer extensive meal options. Currently, this company has over 70 high-protein meals, which also include snacks and drinks.

The creamy beef tortellini is my go-to dish from their menu items. It’s high in protein, and the tender minced beef with spinach, Napolitan sauce, and beef tortellini makes the perfect bite.

Apart from that, My Muscle Chef offers a variety of ready-to-drink protein shakes. Their protein snacks satisfy cravings without throwing off calorie or macro goals.

Relatively, the food prices are cheaper, but it doesn’t take away the fact that My Muscle Chef maintains high-quality standards. In comparison to other brands, the fibre content and vegan options are limited on the menu.

Pros

  • High Protein
  • Fitness-friendly meals
  • Excellent taste and variety
  • Meal planning efficiency
  • Wide delivery coverage
  • User-friendly ordering

Cons

  • Limited fibre content and vegan options

Convenient and Loads of Protein

I’ve been ordering My Muscle Chef meals for the past four weeks, and I’m really impressed. The meals are convenient, save me time, and provide the protein I need to support my goals. Each meal has a great balance of ingredients and flavour. I also enjoy the snacks, especially the Choc Hazelnut Truffle Protein Ball and the Protein Oat Slice Pack. They are perfect for a quick and healthy pick-me-up during the day.”
